The full roster for WWE All Stars has been revealed on IGN, including future downloadable characters. Although names have been confirmed, full details of some wrestlers are yet to be revealed - I'll update this article when the information becomes available. However, I've included a screenshot of each wrestler, and if possible, gameplay tips and a video of the star's finishing move. First though, here's a trailer reveal of the full roster:
The WWE Legends
Jimmy Snuka
Mr. Perfect
Mr. Perfect is a perfect example of the Grappler class in WWE All Stars. Combining long grapple chain combos, submissions and running strikes, Perfect is best played at close range, constantly pressing the advantage, locking up whenever possible and then chaining deeper into his combos. Mr. Perfect's finisher, the Perfect Plex, goes directly into a pin, often allowing you to grab victory earlier than your opponent is expecting.
Ricky Steamboat
Ricky the Dragon Steamboat is an Acrobat in WWE All Stars, but with a unique twist, relying as much on his martial arts training as his high flying maneuvers. Take advantage of Steamboat's strike range to deliver some powerful roundhouse and back kicks, then move in for a rapid series of strikes, chops and back fists. Under such an assault, your opponent may forget you have access to the high flying moves of an acrobat! Keep switching tactics between strike combos and aerial maneuvers and you can keep your opponent off balance while you set up for your signature moves.
Shawn Michaels
Shawn Michaels, Mr. Wrestlemania, brings his Legendary style to WWE All Stars, mixing old-school high flyer maneuvers with a wide array of powerful back chops and kicks. When playing as Michaels, try to keep your opponent guessing by switching off between close range strike combos, running attacks. Unique to the Acrobat class, Michaels can chain his strikes directly into a signature. Build up some energy and then perform a series of three quick strikes and immediately activate your signature move to send your opponent flying through the air, possibly setting them up for Sweet Chin Music and a big KO!
Stone Cold Steve Austin
Stone Cold Steve Austin is one of the most efficient Brawlers in WWE All Stars, with fast strike combos and strong attacks that can stun an opponent when they are least expecting it. His charged strike knocks opponents back into the corner, setting them up for a brutal mod hole stomp. Austin is also one of the only Brawlers in the game who can perform a combo out of a counter.
The Rock
One of the greatest Legends of the Attitude Era, The Rock's signature style is on full display in WWE All Stars, a fast Brawler with good grappling techniques, The Rock specializes in charged attacks, and can perform them with a standard charge up or can combo into them from his strike chains. Catch opponents on the rebound from a charged strike, take them to the ground and then drop a signature People's Elbow on them!
Ultimate Warrior
The Ultimate Warrior is power personified, a hard hitting Brawler that can knock opponents down with the force of a Big Man. When playing as Ultimate Warrior, combine strong strike combos with submission moves such as bear hugs. Warrior's leaping shoulder blocks are the perfect counter to an Acrobat's rope spring maneuvers and can be performed as a running strong strike or as a charged up signature move.
Andre the Giant
The largest, most imposing athlete the WWE has ever seen, Andre the Giant was a master of throwing his weight around and his representation in WWE ALL Stars is no different. Capable of charging and storing his most powerful punch, Andre can bash an opponent back against the ropes and then send them flying out of the ring with a well placed kick, giving him time to charge up a second punch or build up his finisher with some taunts. For a devastating combo, toss your opponent into the turnbuckle with a charged grab, then follow up with a series of signature butt slams. Once they hit the floor, grind your foot into their chest or knock them out with Andre's head butt finisher.
Bret "The Hitman" Hart
The Excellence of Execution is one of the best technical Grapplers in WWE All Stars, capable of grapple chains that can take your opponent to the ground, lift them back up and put them right back down again. These combos build up your energy meter very quickly, letting Bret land a powerful signature move such as a Bulldog or Spike Piledriver. Bret's famous finisher, the Sharpshooter, can be used on both standing and grounded opponents, making it particularly difficult to avoid.
Eddie Guerrero
Hulk Hogan
The immortal Hulk Hogan brings takes Hulkamania to the extreme in WWE All Stars. A Brawler with some Big Man tendencies, Hogan has some unique advantages in the game. Hogan is harder to knock down than the average Brawler, and will resist some strong strike knockdowns by "Hulking up". Counter-attack your opponent when this happens. Hulk can also perform his famous Leg Drop both as a Signature and a Finisher. We haven't forgotten the Hollywood Hogan days, so surprise your opponent with the occasional dirty trick, such as a back rake, to set up a signature Atomic Drop!
Jake "The Snake"
Macho Man Randy Savage
The Macho Man Randy Savage is one of the most diverse and well balanced Legends in WWE All Stars. By class, he's an old-school acrobat, but that only tells part of the story. Savage is equally proficient in delivering close range, fist and elbow strikes as he is at delivering running attacks. Capable of performing signature moves against standing and grounded opponents, from runs or from the turnbuckle, there is never a moment in a match were Savage isn't a dangerous opponent.
Rowdy Roddy Piper
The legendary Rowdy Roddy Piper was the WWE's purest example of pugilism, a quality that is reflected in WWE All Stars where Piper is the fastest swinging Brawler in the game. What he lacks in range he more than makes up in fast, ferocious combos. Keep up the pressure with quick strike chains and never let up! If your opponent covers up, toss in an eye poke to get their attention then unleash one of Piper's signature punch flurries or airplane spins while the opponent is recovering.
Sgt. Slaughter
Sgt. Slaughter is a no-nonsense brawler with strong combos of punches and kicks that can chain into knock downs or pop-ups for juggles. The Sergeant is an all-out brawler!
The Current WWE Superstars
Big Show
The Big Show is a nearly unstoppable force, one of WWE All Star's three Big Men. In addition to being able to perform charged strikes and grabs, Big Show has the unique ability to stomp the ground with a medium range strong strike, sending any opponent unfortunate enough not to brace themselves skywards, where they can be juggled with a series of strikes, grabbed into a backbreaker or punted out of the ring! Big Show's Finisher, the Knockout Punch is especially dangerous when charged up. Big Show can unleash his Finisher so quickly, it's nearly impossible for anyone in range to avoid it.
CM Punk
The Straight Edge Superstar, CM Punk, is one of the most complex Brawlers in WWE All Stars and one of the most dangerous. Drawing on his Muay Thai background, Punk can string together an enormous variety of punch and kick combos, with each step of the chain having multiple branch points, making it very difficult for an opponent to know when the combo is over or where it can be interrupted. Add to this Punk's ability to chain his strike combos into a quick DDT or neckbreaker and you have a potent combination. The key to success with CM Punk is to not fall into repetition. Always change up the order of your strikes to keep the opponent guessing!
Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre is relatively new to WWE but has already made a strong impact. Like his countryman Roddy Piper, Drew is a fierce brawler and while he lacks Piper's punch speed, he makes up for it with deep combos that have a lot of knockdown capability. Even Drew's grapples are designed to set up punishing strikes. Follow your quick grabs with a series of quick strikes to deal damage and take the opponent to the mat.
John Cena
The Champ is here! John Cena is a true hybrid in WWE All Stars, half brawler, half grappler with the ability to chain his strikes into grabs and holds that can take his opponent to the ground and set them up for everything from submissions to good old fashioned ground and pound. Much like his real life counterpart, Cena excels at chaining together signature moves. Build up to at least two bars of energy, then execute Cena's Suplex Side Slam. This will place your opponent in the perfect position for a Five Knuckle Shuffle. If you time it right and have built up your Finisher, you can end the combo with the Attitude Adjustment!
John Morrison
John Morrison is one of the most dynamic and exciting Superstars in WWE today. His high flying, parkour-based style is reflected in his spectacular signature and finisher moves. Morrison is a master at using the ropes to his advantage and is the only Acrobat in the game with a signature rope spring maneuver. Build up at least one bar of energy then run at the ropes, activating your finisher just before impact to launch Morrison's hard to counter Chuck Kick. Once you have the opponent in the red, get ready to launch Starship Pain, a spectacular finisher that can nail an opponent nearly anywhere in the arena!
Sheamus
The Miz
The Undertaker
The Undertaker is unlike any other Brawler in WWE All Stars. At nearly seven feet in height, he could easily be mistaken for a Big Man, and his move set reflects this and much more. Undertaker has the speed and strike combo chains of a Brawler, combined with a Big Man's ability to toss his opponent around the ring and a Grappler's ability to lock on submissions. Opponents rarely know what's coming until it's too late. One strike chain may lead into the Hell's Gate submission while another sends the opponent flying into to the turnbuckle, in a perfect position for Undertaker's Old School signature move. The key to Undertaker is to make use of this versatility and keep your opponent guessing.
Edge
The Rated R Superstar may very well be the most dangerous opponent in WWE All Stars! As a Grappler with good if somewhat complex chains and descent striking, Edge is already a good character for experienced players. What separates him from other Grapplers, and makes him such a threat, is his ability to close distance in an instant. Between his signature Wheel Kick and his lethal Spear finisher, Edge can go from unassuming to crushing his opponent in an instant. Once charged up, the Spear is nearly impossible to avoid. Just be sure to use it when it's least expected!
Jack Swagger
The All American American, Jack Swagger is a pure grappler, relying more on his collegiate wrestling background to grab and slam opponents then on technical grappling like Bret Hart or Mr. Perfect. Swagger has some of the deepest grapple chains in the game. Try to time the chains just as the opponent is slammed to the mat and don't forget that some chains can be started against opponents already on the ground. Distance is Swagger's enemy so play aggressively and try to stay locked up for as much of the game as possible. Becoming good at reversal counters is key to getting to the end of Swagger's grapple chains.
Kane
The Big Red Monster, Kane, is a fearsome competitor in WWE All Stars. One of the game's Big Men, he is hard to knock down and hits with tremendous power. While he lacks some of the ring-shaking attacks of Andre the Giant or Big Show, he makes up for it with greater speed and versatility. Lead off with quick strikes and quickly combo into strong strikes for easy knock-downs. Grab and toss opponents to set up your charged strikes. Build up energy and then surprise opponents when you do a signature leaping clothesline off the turnbuckle.
Kofi Kingston
Kofi Kingston is the very definition of innovative offense. A high flier with good striking skills, Kofi is dangerous up close, delivering kick combos that can chain into hurricanranas and from a distance, using the ropes to deliver flying cross body takedowns. Kofi's signature moves give him a lot of options, quickly closing distance with the always dangerous Trouble in Paradise or finishing off a downed opponent with the Boom Drop. Kofi's SOS finisher leads directly into a pin, often allowing Kofi to secure a pinfall before the opponent is fully in the red.
Randy Orton
The WWE's Apex Predator, Randy Orton is as ruthless in WWE All Stars as he is on Raw. His striking combos have numerous built in stuns and can also chain to quick takedowns, allowing Orton to unleash brutal signature moves like his ground stomps or his running punt. By far, Orton's most dangerous weapon is his finisher. The RKO is the fastest finisher in the game and once charged can be launched "from out of nowhere". Unless you are in the middle of being hit, chances are, you can land your RKO.
Rey Mysterio
The WWE's high flying luchador is one of WWE All Star's premiere Acrobats, a Superstar who is always at his best when in constant motion. Start off the match with some medium range kicks to build up enough energy to run, then start working the ropes and the turnbuckles. Switch between rope spring strike and grabs to keep your opponent guessing. When you get to grappling range, perform a quick grab and then kick off the opponent's chest, combo into a hurricanrana, taking the opponent to the mat and leaving him open for a high flying turnbuckle attack like Rey's signature Angel's Wings. Rey can perform his 619 from anywhere inside the ring, so don't hold back once your Finisher Meter is full!
Triple H
Triple H, the King of Kings, is a hybrid Grappler/Brawler. His grabs have the speed of a standard Grappler, but his strike combos are nearly as deep as a Brawler, giving him a wide variety of options. Add to this Triple H's ability to chain from one submission to another, and the speed of his Running Knee Lift signature move and you have one of the most versatile and effective Superstars in the game!
