Outland Co-op Trailer Reveals Its Release Date

XBLA platformer arriving April 27th

Every now and then, a game comes along with such a unique art style and arresting visuals that make it completely stand out amongst the gluttony of relentless me-too, boring-looking titles. It is instantly intriguing, begging to be played right away so you can fully experience and appreciate its world. Outland is definitely one of those games - though you can judge that for yourself in the co-op trailer below:



See what I mean? The game is a 2D platformer inspired by Prince of Persia, putting players "in the middle of a world of balance and chaos where their efforts allow them to bridge the ancient divide, or doom the world to destruction." The game's world is ever-changing, with its core light versus dark gameplay inspired by Ikaruga.

The game has been created by Finnish developer Housemarque, whose previous work includes Golf: Tee It Up! and PSN-exclusives Dead Nation and Super Stardust HD. Video game music nerds might be happy to hear that Ari Pulkkinen has done the music for the game, who also scored the excellent Trine soundtrack.

As the above co-op trailer reveals, the game is slated to hit the Xbox Live Arcade on April 27th, though a price has not been confirmed.

You had me at Housemarque. My buddies and I dumped many hours into Golf Tee It Up... a very fun game. I've been waiting for their next XBLA release... I'm sure they can pull this off, even though I know this has absolutely no similarities to Golf nor its art style. So much more than a "Hot Shots rip-off"

Wow. I can't watch the trailer right now, but the screenshots look fantastic. I'll see the trailer when I get home. I gotta say, this has my interest.

That was like some sort of bizarre mix between Limbo, a 2D Prince of Persia and eye candy. I'm interested in this bad boy now.

Account Settings

Xbox live settings will need to be set up in the following way to allow TrueAchievements to scan your gamertag.

1. Log into https://live.xbox.com

2. Click on My Account in the top toolbar.

3. Scroll down to Settings and Preferences on the right hand side. Click on Privacy and Online Settings.

4. Scroll down to Privacy. You need to make sure that Profile Sharing and Game History is set to Everyone otherwise you will not be scanned.

These simple steps will allow TrueAchievements to scan your profile and update your achievements.
