First Shift 2: Unleashed DLC Pack Announced

Race like a Legend!

Written by KeithBGray on 20 April 11 at 22:53

In a press release issued today, Electronic Arts has announced the first DLC content for racing sequel, Need for Speed: SHIFT 2: Unleashed. The "Legends" pack will allow players to re-live motor racing's "golden age", as the add-on is set to introduce cars and tracks from the late 1960s and early '70s.

As follows, the publisher has provided details of the cars and tracks which will become available:

Cars
• Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA (1965)
• Austin Mini Cooper S (1965)
• BMW 3.0 CSL Gr. 5 (1975)
• Ford Capri RS3100 Gr.4 (1974)
• Ford Escort Mk1 RS1600 (1971)
• Ford GT40 Mk.I (1965)
• Ford Lotus Cortina (1963)
• Jaguar E-Type Lightweight (1963)
• Nissan Fairlady 240ZG (S30) (1971)
• Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R (C10) (1972)
• Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0 (1974)
• Porsche 914/6 GT (1970)
• Shelby Cobra "Daytona" Coupe (1965)
• Team Need For Speed Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0

Tracks
• Dijon-Prenois (1972)
• Hockenheim (1982)
• Monza (1958)
• Rouen-Les-Essarts GP (1966)
• Rouen-Les-Essarts Short (1952)
• Silverstone (1975)

As an added bonus, the "Legends" pack will add more achievements to the title; however, the specific details have not yet been confirmed.

To tide you over until the DLC is unleashed (pun intended!), a sweet-looking trailer has also been released to showcase some of the cars and tracks in all their glory!

The "Legends" pack will come rip-roaring onto the Marketplace on April 26th, with a price tag of 800 MSP.

800 MSP for this and 2 achievements doesn't seem like it's worth it.

Anybody have any suggestions? As in, like is this game one of the best on it?

NFS: Most Wanted is a bit dated but still awesome, and I liked Midnight Club: LA as well.

I'll pass, not 800MSP's worth in my opinion. Enough to do on the actual game as well.

You know I've never played a Need For Speed game! But I've always wanted one, bet I could pick it up on the cheap too. It seems to be the perfect mix of arcade and realistic racing. Which are my fav kinds of racing games.

I mean, I know EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. on here would have bought... oh, say Dante's Inferno "Dark Forest" DLC if it didn't have achievements because it was such epic and immersive gameplay. Or Prince of Persia's "Epilogue" DLC. Or Borderlands' "Moxxi" DLC. Or Bomberman Live Battlefest's incredible DLC. No one bought those just because they have achievements and wanted to keep their completion.

You guys obviously missed the "this" right before the achievements comment. I mean it seems you guys automatically saw the achievements word and jumped into conclusions.

Another note, you can also tell I'm not an achievement junkie from my score or what not.

The cars they are offering for this "800" price is not worth it in my opinion, some of these cars are defaults in many other cars thus my conclusion of why it isn't worth it.

It's nice to get 5 tracks as well as cars, they could have just done cars and tried to charge 800msp.

I wouldn't buy the DLC anyway, regardless of achieves but 800msp for only 35G.
