Over the weekend, we posted an article informing you about how you could be a Kinect Sports World Record holder.
Today, Microsoft revealed that a new Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous online 100m sprint was set when 10,539 Xbox LIVE users participated in the sprint during the Xbox Nations Free LIVE Weekend on April 23rd.
Gaz Deaves, editor of Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition 2011 issued the following congratulatory message to the Xbox LIVE community:
Congratulations to the crew from Xbox LIVE and most importantly, the thousands of Xbox LIVE members from across the globe who got up off their sofas to create this new Guinness World Record for the largest ever online sprint. The new record will be considered for inclusion in the next Gamer’s Edition.
It was also pointed out in last week's article that a new DLC pack for Kinect Sports would be released this Friday. It seems that Microsoft has decided to put the "Kinect Sports Calorie Challenge Pack" out early, as it arrived on the Marketplace today. The pack includes six food mascot rivals which you will challenge to calorie loss goals. It also includes a Free Play mode.
You can pick the 'Kinect Sports Calorie Challenge Pack" up here for 320 MSP. The DLC includes 10 new achievements worth 250 GS.
Congratulations to all those that participated in this World Record setting event!
