Bethesda revealed on their blog
this weekend that a matchmaking update is now available for the recently-released, Splash Damage-developed, Brink
Bethesda revealed that the update is a configuration change which "alters the number of human players when matchmaking for “Campaign” and most ‘Freeplay’ modes to eight total human players". This essentially means that those searching for matches will be able to find quality hosts more frequently, thus leading to less lag.
The publisher also added that they will still be supporting 8 vs. 8 play utilizing a new 'Big Teams' configuration. This mode will be available on all maps and can be accessed in Freeplay and through custom settings in Private matches.
The patch will be applied the next time you load up the campaign or Standard Freeplay matches.
In a nod to fans who have already picked up and supported Brink
despite some early negativity, Bethesda also revealed that new DLC will be arriving for the title. This content pack will be released in June for free. They only vaguely confirmed that the pack will "offer additional maps and new content for players", which means the big question on many minds, "will there be achievements?", is presently unanswered, but who's going to argue with free, right?
