In two more days, a demo of Hitman: Absolution will be shown at E3 and gamers will finally get a real taste of Agent 47, one that has been missing for almost five years. Until June 7th, IO Interactive has left us with two measly screenshots:

For those out of loop, Hitman: Absolution delves deeper into Agent 47's persona and personal life. In the new game, Agent 47 has little-to-no human contact. His only human connection is his handler, Diana Burnwood (voiced by Marsha Thomason who played Naomi Dorrit from Lost).

The story follows the typical cliche where the über killer has the roles switched on him due to betrayal from the people he trusts. According to Square Enix, Agent 47 "finds himself at the centre of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world, in his search for his truth."

To further exasperate Agent 47 as "human," IO Interactive provides gamers with Blake Dexter (voiced by Keith Carradine, currently starring in Cowboys & Aliens), the villain of Hitman: Absolution.

As one can conclude from the screenshots and plot line, Hitman has taken a darker, more emotional turn, one that is exponentially more human and serious than previous titles.

Absolution also has been given the Hollywood treatment. Over a dozen Hollywood actors/actresses are working with IO as well. The entire production is being shot in Giant Studios, the location where James Cameron worked on blockbuster hit Avatar.

To also coincide with the game is a movie, written by Daniel Casey. "The hope is that the movie will be going in a similar direction [as the game], and then when they both come out they will speak the same language. They won't follow the old Hitman games, but rather go with this newer direction."

The game and movie are set to release sometime in 2012.
