EA Shutting Down More Servers

By Ashley Woodcock,
The almighty, powerful game publisher, Electronic Arts, have announced that several game servers for some of their less popular titles will be shutting down in the near future.

The decision to shut down these servers is "never easy", but when the number of players gets too low for EA games, they would rather have their staff working on the more popular games and "keeping a positive experience" going for you guys.

Here is the list of titles in which the online achievements will no longer be obtainable as a result of the server shut downs:

Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005) is also in the August lineup for a server shutdown, but the game does not have any online achievements.

Two more games will also see their online achievements become unobtainable, but at the later date of October 1st, 2011:

October 1, 2011 Online Service Shutdown

- Madden NFL 10
- NHL 10
It's also worth noting that a few related online demos will see their servers shut down, too:

- Army of Two
- Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
- Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11

It is presently not known if Army of TWO (EU) or Army of TWO (Asian) will also be affected by the upcoming closures.

So remember, you only have until August 11th, 2011 or October 1st, 2011, depending on the title, to unlock as many of these affected achievements as possible. This would be a good opportunity to take advantage of or make some of your own Gaming Sessions so you can help others with those achievements, as well.

Thank you to all of you that sent this news in.
