We've all seen the various trailers
for Atlus' psychological, love-horror, action-puzzler, Catherine
, by now. The game has been generating quite the buzz since its initial release in Japan, enough so that the game was finally confirmed for release in America. In fact, Atlus sent along one final trailer
to get us ready (if such a thing is possible) for the game's Stateside debut next week.
Through all of this commotion, European fans of the title have been left wondering why they've been excluded from Catherine
. Well, you folks need wait no longer as publisher Deep Silver, who will also be publishing the zombie-infused Dead Island
later this year, has confirmed today that they will bring Catherine, and the buzz and potential brush with insanity attached to it, to Europe later this year.
Deep Silver CEO Klemens Kundratitz, had the following to say about the arrangement:
We are very proud to be able to publish Catherine in all PAL territories as a Deep Silver game. Catherine is something new, fresh and exciting; unlike anything else in the gaming world – a unique mixture of genres. This agreement proves once again that games published under the Deep Silver label are not ‘more of the same’, ‘run of the mill’ productions.
Atlus president and CEO Shinichi Suzuki also had this to say:
Atlus is very pleased to collaborate with an experienced, passionate publisher like Deep Silver for the release of Catherine in Europe. They share our belief that Catherine’s unprecedented exploration of the psychology and horrors of commitment and relationships, its breathtaking visual design and frantic action, adventure and puzzle gameplay make for an entertaining experience that cannot be missed.Catherine
will be released in America on this coming Tuesday, July 26th. There's no word yet on when the European version will come out, but we'll be sure to bring that news to you as soon as we get it. Those of you in the US can go ahead and try the game before you buy it by downloading the demo right here
