Welcome to the stats for the last week of July! You may also know these stats from other such weeks as "The second week of Resonance of Fate
re-scans" or "Last week."
Remember, stats for one week are posted the next week. For example, today is August 7th, these stats run from July 25th to July 31st. This is done to ensure that all of the relevant information is collected by TA's scanners. When a prominent game is missing, check the release date. Chances are it was actually released the same week you are asking "Where's [Game X]?" That would mean that the *following* week's stats will include said title.
For example, last week some users were wondering where Catherine
was on the chart. This week? You'll find it towards the top. This report is for the period 25 Jul '11 to 31 Jul '11
31,242 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 50,728 games between them (1,361 different games).
! The Jezebel was denied a top spot due to Resonance of Fate
sneaking in due to a technicality. L.A. Noire
and Portal 2
finally show some signs of fatigue this week. Duke Nukem Forever
is dropping right off of the cliff. Despite a great surge to the top of the charts, it appears Duke is a bit lacking in the "staying power" department. Compare him to the Italian Ezio, represented by Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (Xbox 360)
, for an example of real "staying power." Top Retail Games StartedFrom Dust
had a stellar debut, and just wait, we are not done seeing that title towards the top of this chart. As of this writing (August 5th, yes I was procrastinating), From Dust
has already *doubled* the amount of gamers firing it up. Bastion
is nearing 6,000 total gamers. Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team
and Ms. Splosion Man
are both just under 4,000 total gamers. Exactly when I call this summer for the XBLA titles? Another week of blowing the retail numbers out of the water? Top Arcade Games Started
The recently discounted Parachute Panic (WP)
slowly floats to the top of the chart where it sits over defensive zombie ninja beaked Sims with flowerz and tentacles doing bad, bad things in Sally's Salon while the birds just watch. They're freaky like that.
Of course that sentence was just a test to see if anyone actually reads these paragraphs between the pretty numbers. Top Windows Phone 7 Games StartedGames Completed
7,732 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 10,816 games between them (940 different games).
Quick! Which games recently received DLC? Good guess, but no, Condemned: Criminal Origins
did not receive any DLC to give it the full 1000 gamerscore.
Recent DLC, re-scans, and server closures account for half of the titles on this chart. 88 brave souls got Army of TWO
complete just before the servers shut down on August 11th. Top Retail Games Completed
A gaggle of the usual suspects are found in this chart. Would it be so hard to organize a group of people to complete, say http://www.trueachievements.com/FLOCK-xbox-360.htm
? With Catherine
making it big, why not some love for that other sheep based puzzle game? Top Arcade Games Completed
Studying these WP7 charts week in and week out gives a good idea as to which titles are very easy (Beards & Beaks (WP)
), very hard (http://www.trueachievements.com/Tentacles-xbox-360.htm
) and a grind (Angry Birds (WP)
). Top Windows Phone 7 Games CompletedAchievements Won
55,579 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 724,193 achievements online between them (37,636 different achievements).Catherine
claims the top achievement, beating out http://www.trueachievements.com/Dragon-Age-II-xbox-360.htm
DLC achievements and the http://www.trueachievements.com/Fallout-New-Vegas-xbox-....htm
DLC achievements. Not bad for a crazy puzzle/platformer about the impotence of modern men. Top Retail Achievements Won
Blah blah blah, Summer of Arcade, blah blah blah. Top Arcade Achievements Won
How many more Angry Birds
can really be unlocked en mass? How many more weeks will those furious fowl appear on this chart? Top Windows Phone 7 Achievements WonTotal TrueAchievements won by Genre
I have to wonder what happened to Strategy, and why is Simulation beating it out for the final place? Card and Board, along with Adventure, seems to have problems charting due to the lack of games available. Obviously that is not a concern for the Shooter genre, which reminds me, we are only 6 weeks or so away from Shootergeddon.
Join me next week when I will not be here! Matrarch
will be my fill-in, and I want everyone to congratulate my boss on having finally unlocked "Seriously" this past week!
