New Champion Jockey: G1 Jockey & GR Screens

By Michelle Balsan, 5 years ago
Tecmo KOEI just released a large batch of screenshots for their upcoming, Kinect-enabled, horse-racing title, Champion Jockey: G1 Jockey & Gallop Racer. Up until now, all we had seen were screens of the menu system and gameplay and a trailer showing us exactly how the Kinect is used for the game.

It begs the question though, what on earth are you playing for? It's not always the case, but games often have a point other than causing you to look slightly embarrassed while playing them.

Well, today's batch of screens introduces us to a few of the game's characters and also reveals that you have to participate in and win races to gain licenses. In doing so, you can, or it least it seems you can, become a fully-fledged jockey. So, it's sort of like Burnout Paradise or Pilotwings, just with horses... possibly.

Anyways, on to the screens.

First we have a set of gameplay shots:

Here we have some shots about what you can expect pre and post-race:

Finally, we have a pair of screenshots introducing us to the fact that the game will also involved breeding horses. Thankfully, it seems this element is menu based, so the Kinect gameplay won't go from mildly embarrassing to anything worse.

Champion Jockey: G1 Jockey & Gallop Racer is still on target for a September release. If the screens are somehow not enticing to you, then we can all hope that it will follow in the footsteps (hoofsteps?) of another classic game involving horses, My Horse and Me 2, and at least be a source for easy Gamerscore.
