Zombie Apocalypse 2 Undergoes a Name Change

Zombie Apocalypse 2 Undergoes a Name Change

Don't worry, it's nothing too drastic

Written by Matrarch on 17 August 11 at 19:59

Tired of all the numbers in game titles you're seeing lately? Gears 3, Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, Prototype 2, Elder Scrolls V, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and so on? It seems that maybe Konami was getting a little anxious about that too, as they've decided to rechristen the sequel to their XBLA title, Zombie Apocalypse. From here forward, there will no longer be a Zombie Apocalypse 2, but rather a Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone.

Well, it's more likely that the name change is to more accurately reflect that game's new squad-based game mechanic, which encourages players to fight together to survive, come to think of it.

The newly branded Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone is due in Q4 2011. Head over here to see some previously released screenshots and here to check out some gameplay footage.

Honestly (and this is just one man's opinion)...the tacked on sub-title for a sequel instead of numbering looks even worse and sometimes downright ugly. This isn't a *horrible* route, but it certainly isn't ideal.

Everyone basically knows it's really the 2nd one, why not call it that?
Rather have numbers than weird sub-titles every day.

I don't like it when developers subtitle their game, unless it's like a small prologue like Dead Rising 2: Case Zero.

Hate to break it to them but TEAM based survival in this game will never happen...atleast when I played the first one I never never EVER had that happen... Did not care for the length of survival for the 7 days by yourself. I did it but it took like 2 hours by myself was not thrilled... completed and deleted thats what that game was lol.

Loved the first one. Hopefully it plays a good bit differently, and that there are different zombies and bigger enviroments.

Hell, I thought the game was so boring. It's the same thing over and over on every level. Luckily I had someone who beat it and let me join their game at the end.

I completely agree. I guess we gotta be thankful that it wasn't changed to something like Zombie Apocalypse 2 - Part 1: Turbo Edition HD Remix. wink

Exactly. I am finding it hard to understand so many positive comments for this game. One of the most boring games ive played; and i have played some stinking XBLA titles.

No, no I am not. I am tired of when they don't use numbers and add in a lame phrase or word to the end of the title.
