Disney Unveils New Disney Universe World

By Michelle Balsan, 5 years ago
Last month, Disney brought us new details about their upcoming title, Disney Universe, specifically about the Wall-E game world that will be featured in the title.

This month's reveal is from another hugely successful Disney animated picture, though this one harkens back to the days of more traditional animation (well, 2D with computer assistance anyways), as the world of The Lion King has officially been announced for inclusion in the game. Players will suit up as characters from The Lion King as they explore Pride Rock and the Elephant Graveyard. Of course, this reveal may not come as a surprise as The Lion King will be returning to the theaters on October 7th in 3D (as all things are better in 3D, right?), followed by a Diamond Edition release on Blu-ray and Blu-Ray 3D on Oct. 31st.

Not that anyone would need to explain any further why such a hugely popular franchise would be included, but Adam Sussman, senior vice president of publishing, Disney Interactive Media Group, took an opportunity to do so.
’The Lion King’ was an animated masterpiece, and certainly one of Disney’s most treasured films. Fans of all ages will surely enjoy the exploration and adventures that await them in this Disney Universe environment, where they’ll have a chance to revisit some of their favourite scenes and suit up as characters from the movie.
Here's what some of the Lion King characters will look like in the Disney Universe context:
