GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Screens from Gamescom

By litepink,
Halo: Combat Evolved may get credit for pioneering first-person shooters on consoles, but Goldeneye 007 was spurring console sales for the Nintendo 64 several years before it, as players got to be the suave James Bond in the licensed movie title. Splitscreen multiplayer was the star as people gathered to play a variety of maps and modes on one console and on one TV. Now with online multiplayer being the norm these days in first-person shooters, fans have been clamoring to return to their first love Goldeneye, with the ability to play online and match up with people instantly rather than waiting to get everyone together for local multiplayer.

Although a Goldeneye remake was once rumored to be in development as an XBLA title, a full retail remake of the original N64 classic simply titled Goldeneye 007 finally arrived, but only on the Nintendo Wii and DS. There was much excitement when it was announced that finally the game would be coming to Xbox 360 as a retail title, dubbed Goldeneye 007: Reloaded, an HD remake of the game that came out on the Wii. There were a few skeptics that felt the game might become "another Call of Duty" type game, as Activision was at the helm for the Bond remake. Those worries seemed to have increased when the MI-6 trailer was released just a few days ago for Gamescom. It should be noted however that Reloaded is being developed by Eurocom, makers of the Nintendo Wii title, and not any of Activision's Call of Duty centric studios. Below we got some new screens of Goldeneye 007: Reloaded, showcasing some enemies, locales, weapons, and equipment 007 will be needing in his adventure:
