Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi Hero Mode

One million new Super Saiyans

For the first time in the Dragon Ball franchise, players are going to be able to make use of a character creation feature. In Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi, Hero Mode will allow players to create their own Saiyan with which to enter battle. Body features, outfits, skills and super attacks can all be customised before players fly through the world and seek out their foes. The custom characters can be used both in the storyline campaign and online against other players, all while being able to gain experience.

Namco Bandai has released a trailer summarising the feature:



Those of you who can't view the trailer can have a look at some of the resulting screenshots instead. Unfortunately these don't do as good a job as the trailer at demonstrating the new mode.

The numerous options will allow for millions of different possible creations. In the first part of the detailed look at the feature, Namco Bandai demonstrates the seemingly limitless choices for name, hair style, costumes and voice type. Skin, hair and costume colours can all be adjusted to a fine degree too.



Part two is not yet available, but we'll post the video as soon as it is released.

Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi is due to be released on October 25th in North America and October 28th in Europe.

Looks awesome. Been waiting for a feature like this. Haven't bought a DBZ game since PS2. Might pick this one up when its released.

thought it would be a character from scratch... but it looks like u just pick a character and change their colors and shit... not as cool

Ugh, why can't they just make a Burst Limit 2 already?
That was a good game, it's what got me interested in Dragon Ball Z in the first place.

I might have to pass on this one, even though I really like creating my own character in a video game. Maybe when the game goes down to like $20 I'll give it a try. So, I guess I'll have to wait another year or two?

The feature looks pretty awesome but at the same time, when the bodies start flying and everything, I can't help but just see "Shirtless Vegeta" or "Yamcha with Goku hair." Still looks fun though and being able to pick your own abilities sounds interesting =).

Does anyone know if you will be able to switch between Japanese and Dubbed voiced? I grew up with the American characters and doubt I'll enjoy hearing that.

I haven't played a DragonBall Z game in a long time (last one was back on my PS2 days). Simply because every new game felt like all the old ones I played but just with other/new fighters. For me personally no big difference.

But this new DBZ game is starting to look interesting. Especially the new Hero mode.
And may I add, FINALLY the abbility to create your own fighter!!!!

So yeah, I might pick this one up.

The customization is not as in depth as it would lead you to believe. However, the whole flying around and doing fights to gain experience and skill system seems pretty cool

Some of those screenshots look like they are in an adventure mode type thing. Was this announced already and I missed it? Or am I completely mistaken?

However, I honestly couldn't tell you what mode you enter once you've actually created your character.

I'm definitely going to grab this one up!

Has anyone heard of pre order bonuses for North America? I found videos on youtube mentioning a life size dragon ball being offered for the Japanese release in December. I don't think I would have to convey my desire for that to not only be true but to be offered over here as well!!
