The much-anticipated beta for Battlefield 3
has been confirmed as starting next week. Starting on September 29th, the open beta will appear on the Xbox LIVE marketplace for download, and the beta will last until October 10th.
Players will be able to play Rush Mode on the Operation Metro map. During the beta period, there is no cap on the amount of time that players can put into the beta. Players can rank up and unlock items without limit, although these will not transfer across to the proper game. The only data that will transfer to the retail version of Battlefield 3
is the name of your soldier. Players will also be able to try out the free Battlelog
feature, which lets you do things like track stats, plan your next game, and socialise with like-minded gamers.
Although we have covered this trailer previously as part of our first multiplayer roundup
for the game, here's a reminder of the Paris multiplayer gameplay:
Those players who activated their online pass in the Medal of Honor
Limited Edition will be able to gain access to the beta two days earlier. EA states that these players will receive an e-mail with instructions and a personal early access code. Follow these instructions and enjoy your 48 hours of exclusive access!
The beta will only be available for play in English, but is available in North America, South America, Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
