Tiger Woods PGA TOUR ’13 First Details

By litepink, 5 years ago
Despite troubles off-the-course, PGA Tour golfer Tiger Woods is garnering a lot of headlines with his poor on-the-course performance as of late. Regardless, he is still the Tour’s most popular player, and EA Sports shows no signs of parting ways with the game’s most famous athlete. Today we bring you the first details for Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13, coming our way this March.

Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 marked the first year Tiger shared the cover with anyone else, when he and young European star Rory McIlroy donned the cover together. EA Sports denied it had anything to do with Woods’ tabloid scandals, and were simply promoting the game’s Ryder Cup feature. In last year’s http://www.trueachievements.com/TigerWoodsPGATOUR-12-xb....htm, Tiger was completely void of the cover to focus on the grandeur of The Masters and Augusta National Golf Club. This year, Tiger Woods is back on the cover, but once again will share the spotlight with another golf great. In similar fashion to http://www.trueachievements.com/Madden-NFL-12-xbox-360.htm, YOU get to decide the cover athlete by voting on Facebook between now and October 23rd.

There’ll be two versions of the box art; one for North America, and one for Europe. Fans will participate in the bracket-style voting to determine the other cover athlete for each of the region’s cover. There are 16 total golfers set to go head-to-head in the voting:

• Ben Crane
• Rickie Fowler
• Jim Furyk
• Dustin Johnson
• Zach Johnson
• Hunter Mahan
• Rocco Mediate
• Bubba Watson
• Paul Casey
• Luke Donald
• Ross Fisher
• Graeme McDowell
• Rory McIlroy
• Edoardo Molinari
• Ian Poulter
• Justin Rose
When the voting concludes the winners will be announced via Facebook on October 24th.

As announced during E3, EA Sports is touting Tiger ‘13 as “the first controller-free, voice-enabled and body tracking sports simulation game to support the Xbox 360 Kinect motion control system.” In case there is any confusion, they only stated there will be “support” for Kinect, and of course, the Kinect sensor is not required. It will be interesting to see how golfing will work out on Kinect; http://www.trueachievements.com/KS-Season-Two-xbox-360.htm features golf, but is certainly not a golf sim.

The Masters will be spotlighted once again this year, with Augusta National Golf Club and The Masters tournament both making their return. The focus on The Masters is even greater with the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13: The Masters Collector’s Edition. Here’s a short snippet on this Edition’s details:

This collector’s edition will have its own unique box art and expanded features including all the courses and features available in the standard edition, plus five additional golf courses, Augusta National’s world-class Tournament Practice Facility, and much more.
You can set a tee-time for Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 in March 2012.
