| I suck at fighting games, but it's always fun to watch gameplay for the awesome moves. |

| I think it is kind of unfortunate that they can continue to pass themselves off as "team ninja" when it is no longer the same team. |

| Does anyone else think the fighting genre needs to evolve? I mean, you have two camps: 3D fighters like Tekken, DOA, and SC, and then you have 2D fighters like BlazBlue and MvC. But beyond those differences, the fighting genre hasn't changed or evolved or gotten better in any way. Sure, they do some stuff like destructible environments and character customization, but that's just cosmetic. What is the next step in gameplay? Because as a guy who has put thousands of hours into the Tekken and SC series', I'm getting pretty sick of fighters doing the same old thing. |

This video eeeehhhh, It mostly looks like Dead or Alive, but the little extra scenes for environmental hits like the girder falling into the car look like they might interrupt the flow a little, and I'm dubious about those KOs, hopefully they're not just a canned animation that takes over from whatever you actually did to earn a KO, if they're stage specific things that you have to trigger and hit with like the instakills in Guilty Gear that would be OK, but otherwise no, that's not what I want in a fighting game, I want to see how I KOd them. |

1) They didn't show anything that would actually constitute "porn" - even with Kasumi and Ayane's ages being what they are, you see girls much YOUNGER than that wearing just as little in the swimwear section of a clothing catalogue, let alone online on all these "modeling" sites, and they're legal enough to be kept open.
2) They aren't real. The U.S. supreme court has (several times) not endicted people on charges of writing erotic fiction starring minors because no actual children were in danger, and it was considered freedom of expression... so why would they pick on a videogame because of some small outfits? I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure given access to google for 10 minutes even I could put together a case that would get any activist group off their back.
3) As GloatingSwine indicated above, those ages have never changed and they've managed to get through 4 fighting games and 2 volleyball games by listing them as "N/A", and gotten by just fine. There's no reason to think anything would change now.
As for the footage? Meh. It looks alright, but nothing too special. I wanna see what characters do and don't make the cut before I consider playing this game. |

^Yes, I agree. We're (so far) basically looking at DoA 4 with much more chaos created by the environment. All of the moves they did were possible in the previous installment. And as Sparechange mentioned, it would be sad if it will turn out to be the same game as DoA 4, only with prettier backgrounds, a couple of new chars, and a bunch of new costumes. I'm not sure if a new "evolution" is what's neccessary though. Things work because they work. Tweaks to the gameplay and fighting engine are welcome, but they shouldn't, in my opinion, be striving for a complete overhaul of the fighting genre. Though DoA, Tekken, Soulcalibur, and Virtua Fighter are all 3d fighters, they're still pretty different from each other (though it may not look that way to people not familiar with these games). I guess I'm just trying to say that with the current selection of fighting game series, there already is a lot of variation. Fans have come to expect certain "house styles" from their favorite series and I don't think the developers should be willing to alienate their fans by going for something completely different in their search for the next revolution in fighting. |

| I think this will just be DOA 4 with some added environmental interaction. Not that it's a bad thing but it's just not much of a step up from the previous game. I'll wait for the final product before passing judgement but I will be getting DOA5 either way. It's my favorite fighting series along with Mortal Kombat, Bloody Roar and Guilty Gear. |

| The environments are pretty friggin sweet. Like mentioned though, I really hope the destruction is random and not scripted as that really takes away from it. That aside it looks pretty much like most fighters. I agree that the genre needs a heavy beefing up. I was really surprised by the 'campaign' mode in Tekken 6 and would love to see more fighters have additional gameplay such as that. |
