Dungeon Siege III DLC Available In All Regions

Dungeon Siege III DLC Available In All Regions

Achievements still not on Xbox.com

Written by PunkyLiar on 26 October 11 at 17:48

Yesterday saw the release of the "Treasures of the Sun" DLC pack for Dungeon Siege III. At the time of the publication of our regular Retail DLC Roundup, the DLC was only available in North America. This is no longer the case and gamers can now purchase the expansion in all regions.

Here is a quick reminder of the content:

Travel beyond the borders of Ehb in Dungeon Siege III’s downloadable content pack, Dungeon Siege III: Treasures of the Sun. Your search for a lost Legion hero will take you to the Aranoi Desert, where a forgotten abbey hides a long-lost secret - the "greatest treasure of the Azunite faith." Explore an accursed desert and an ancient underground vault, while battling sand hulks, skeletal giants, blood worms, mummies, and more. Unlock divine abilities that can be used to empower yourself or devastate your opponents. Upgrade your legionnaire with an increased level cap, a hoard of new loot, and an item-enchanting system... or reinvent your character with the new respec pool!It isn't all good news though. The DLC adds ten new achievements worth a total of 250G, but these have not been added to Xbox.com. As a result, earning these achievements will not increase your gamerscore or your achievement total. If you earn any of these achievements prior to Xbox.com being updated, then you will need to recover your gamertag and re-earn them for them to count properly. I would advise that you avoid playing the DLC until the achievements are added to Xbox.com, unless you don't mind earning them again.

"Dungeon Siege III: Treasures of the Sun" costs 800 MSP and can be downloaded from here. Check out the previous screenshots if you want a sneak peek of the DLC before deciding on a purchase.

Well was thinking about picking this game up soon but if there is DLC then I might jsut have to hold out for a possible "ultimate edition" kind of deal.
I aim to misbehave!

Mmf. I held onto DS3 cause I figured there would probably be DLC. Looks like I made the right choice.

About 20€ for DS3, seems a fair price now.
I wouldn´t pay more for that Game cause of the lack of a good MP.
You can only play while beeing on the same Screen (Marvel Ult. All.)
and no one gets profit from playing online execpt the host.

Did they (Devs.) never take a look on Sacred 2?
S2 is way better then DS3 and has more to offer.

This DLC is actually a good deal. In addition to adding new areas to explore and new quests, it also adds new features to the main game, like more equipment (the stuff I have been finding so far has been generally more powerful) and you can now make any of your equipment better by using "essences" that you pick up on the ground.

I'm trying to hold off on getting any of the new achievements so I haven't explored the new areas, but so far it seems like a welcome addition to the game (i.e. I think it is going to make hardcore easier to do).

I could not disagree with you more. DS3 has a better story, graphics, and strategy during combat. Sacred 2 isn't the worst game in the world, but IMO it is a Diablo wannabe where you constantly spam the attack button.

So basically don't bother playing it until they are on xbox.com or you will get screwed over? This is an all too common trend lately. facepalm Glad I waited on starting this up.

What? It's a lot more complicated than that... every few seconds you need to pause in your spamming and cycle through all the hotkeys to refresh your buffs.

DS3 sacrificed a lot of the depth Sacred 2 (and Diablo) had. Every character in either game has many builds that you can make, while DS3 really only has two at best, if that. The item catalog in both of them is also much bigger and has a lot more unique/set stuff to hunt for. While it's nice they are extending DS3's replayability with DLC, Sacred 2 provided more reasons to come back after the story was done. I did not feel compelled to return to DS3 since any deviation I can make with a new character is minimal.

I also don't understand what you mean about constantly spamming the attack button. Is spamming the dodge button in DS3 really any better? I think you are using the word strategy far too loosely...

I do agree about the story, though, and the graphics. Although the latter I could care less about.

I guess I am just different than you guys. Sure there are more items in Sacred 2, but after awhile it didn't seem to matter. The quests and the story in Sacred 2 are so dumb, I stopped reading what the text said after the first 20 or so.

Believe me, neither game is what I would call "fantastic", but overall I have a more enjoyable time in DS3. To me, Sacred 2 is like Diablo, and DS3 is like Dragon Age.
Smurfquake - Well, looks like I'm gonna get kicked off the website. Nice getting to know you all. Find me on Xbox if you'd like.

Hate the recent trend of DLC being added but the achievements somehow not syncing up right.
Really stupid to not have them ready to go from the get go, but whatever.
