Actually... it does require you to have a code.
You can get them free by mailing a self-addressed envelope to:

Yea, read the fine print people. He didn't say you didn't need a code, he just said you didn't need to purchase soda. If you read the official rules, you can mail a self-addressed envelope to get a FREE code here.......

The article is correct, you don't need to purchase any Dr Pepper, but you do need a code. US only too :(

1. 1 Liter/20/16 OZ BOTTLES: Look under the cap of specially marked 1 liter, 20 oz. and 16 oz. bottles of Dr Pepper®, Dr Pepper Cherry, Diet Dr Pepper® and Diet Dr Pepper Cherry for the game code ("Code"). Codes will be available under the cap on bottles from January 4, 2011 through March 31, 2011 and from July 1, 2011 through December 30, 2011 in participating markets.
2. FOUNTAIN CUPS: Look on or behind the sticker of specially marked fountain cups of Dr Pepper® at participating locations from for the Code.
3. FREE CODES: Mail in a self-addressed, stamped envelope (Vermont residents may omit return postage) to the Free Code Address. Requests must be received by the Free Code Request Deadline. Each mail-in request must be mailed separately. No mechanical reproductions permitted. Free Codes will be mailed to you in the self-addressed envelope you enclosed.
ELIGIBILITY:

| A lot of these Dr Pepper giveaways have worldwide codes that can be used multiple times. This was the case with BFBC2 and ME2. The codes worked outside of the US as long as you make a fake email and US address. No idea if that is the case now. |

Summery of EA in 6 points:
1. Lack of moderators (with moderating achievements and in general)
2. Shutting down servers making unobtainable cheevos
3. First day sever crashes
4. Online passes
5. Terrible support
6. D/L codes that don't work Like in BF3,ME2..etc.
The only plus side is, that they usually release DLC's for most games. |

| You can get those Dr.Pepper codes all 6 off ebay for $2.20 and all you have to do when signing up is use any zip code from the US and link it to your EA origin account and they will unlock. I can confirm this works on UK accounts! |
