Magic: The Gathering DotP 2012 DLC Released

Magic: The Gathering DotP 2012 DLC Released

How does the thought of more cards take you?

Written by punkyliar on 16 November 11 at 14:56

Two more decks have been added to Magic: The Gathering - DotP 2012 today in the second expansion for the game. The decks will be available to use in both the campaign and multiplayer games. There aren't any additional achievements, I'm afraid.

Explore two brand-new decks and expand your mastery of Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. Includes “March to War,” a red and white deck featuring an army of brutally efficient Soldiers, and “Ghoulkeeper,” a vile black deck featuring an unrelenting Zombie legion. Both decks are available for Campaign and Multiplayer play. The "Magic 2012 Deck Pack 1" costs 240 MSP and can be downloaded from here. Those of you who don't want to download the expansion pack will need to download the free compatibility pack if you want to continue to play against those players with the new content; that pack can be downloaded from here.

I wish they were cheaper.

I'm going to assume you start with all the cards unlocked, otherwise the cost is just outrageous, when you can unlock a whole deck for 80MSP

Yeah, no thanks. The decks it comes with are sufficent enough to complete the game. If they want my moneys, more challenges and another campaign set would be fine with me.

I´m afraid it is two morea aggro decks .

I miss Eons of Evil and Mind of Void from the first game. We need more control and combo deck in 2012 istead of 82635463254 aggro variants,

I'd rather pay for control over the cards - this prebuilt deck stuff sucks in comparison to ChronX where you had a massive card pool (I had like 5000 cards at one point) and could build any sort of deck you could think of.
Life, it's funny that way.

If I had more friends playing this, I'd likely be all over it. Until then, I'll hold off.

They should just bring out a standard card set and let up build a deck should win a booster per match and unlock the cards that way rather than giving us set decks its no fun.

I agree that it's a pain they didn't include achievements, but actually I think this is a moral victory, because it's nice that they don't just release any old tat and expect it to sell just as it has achievements.

Unfortunately though, in this case it does seem to be a bit of a rip-off! 4 or more decks would have been a buy from me for that price.

@Nikon82uk - That would require a much more in depth game build, which in turn would require a much higher price tag. You want that much customization, it's available on Magic Online. In this case, you get what you pay for - a cheap simulator used to intice people into playing the real thing.
