This is the greatest week of stats to ever have passed through the TA Stats HQ. I may have said that in the past, but if I did, I was lying. This time I am not lying as this week is truly the greatest stat week of all time. Just go down to the retail stats and take a look at the murderer's row of games. This report is for the period November 14th to November 20th 2011
54,992 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 84,418 games between them (1,490 different games).
How cool is it that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
are once again, this close up top? The largest entertainment launch in history and a RPG title are within 400 gamers of each other. Keep in mind, this is only the TA Community, which slants more to the hardcore gaming crowd than the Xbox Community at large. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
made the biggest splash of the new titles, but I can not help but wonder if it would have been an even larger hit if it included new MP. Speaking of new MP, I am on record as being a fan of what Ubisoft has done with the Assassin's Creed
MP system, and Assassin's Creed: Revelations (Xbox 360)
just expands the magic. Assassin's Creed: Revelations
and Saints Row: The Third
are going head-to-head in this week's numbers and in overall numbers.
As for disappointing newcomers, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
and Need for Speed: The Run
truly underperformed this week.
For the curious, Battlefield 3
remains in terms of overall numbers behind both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
and Gears of War 3
. Top Retail Games Started
During the summer, everyone was playing XBLA titles. During the fall, no one is playing XBLA titles. Ms. Splosion Man
was boosted by being the sole DotW title while Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game
are STILL boosted in the chart by being recent DotW titles.
I am happy seeing a little more love for Fusion: Genesis
, which is such an odd title that I fear being released during blockbuster season has severely handicapped its potential. Daytona USA
has no such problems considering it has not only placed on this chart every week since release, but the Completions chart as well. Top Arcade Games StartedGames Completed
4,489 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 5,896 games between them (867 different games).Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
tops another chart! I have heard that Veteran mode is a joke compared to previous games in the series, and the amount of completions already seems to back this up. The number of nuts completing Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
is to be commended, or possibly feared, as in order to show on the chart the game had to be completed within 9 days of release. Halo: Combat Evolved
and Saints Row: The Third
also required completion in record time to show this week. I should point out the overall low numbers of completions that are making these rapid completions possible for the stats.
Special consideration must be shown for NCIS
, which again, only appears in the Games Completed chart. Personally, thanks to all of you that just finished Assassin's Creed II (Xbox 360)
, my current game of choice, as I no longer feel alone in being that behind the times. Top Retail Games Completed
Did you doubt me when I said no one was completing games? Look at this chart! Not even 75 gamers completed the same arcade game all week! Without a doubt, these are the lowest Arcade completion numbers of all time. Every game listed here is also regarded as an easy completion making this a week of no Arcade completions with a TA ratio above even 1.5. Top Arcade Games CompletedAchievements Won
78,732 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 971,047 achievements online between them (35,865 different achievements).Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary
and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
worked together, bringing together FPS and RPG fans into a joint act of chart domination. It is a thing of beauty. Top Retail Achievements Won
I will not even acknowledge the achievements, or the games in this chart. Check out those numbers as only 81 gamers unlocking an achievement was enough to place on this chart. It's alright gamers, you can put down the retail games and go enjoy the XBLA titles. No one will judge you. Top Arcade Achievements WonTotal TrueAchievements won by Genre
While Shooter is dominating yet again, Action-Adventure took advantage of the numbers game utilizing the Saints Row
and Assassin's Creed
franchises. The lone high profile RPG franchise of The Elder Scrolls
can not compete against the number of Action-Adventure titles available right now.
Join me next week when we see which games are duking it out for the top spot in our charts, and time in our console. With this many big releases anything could happen, though the odds on Modern Warfare 3
holding the fort must be good.
