City Interactive, the developer and publisher behind the upcoming Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 have today released eight new screenshots from the game's campaign. The screens once again highlight the marked visual improvement the game will have over its predecessor, Sniper: Ghost Warrior, due to it being developed using Crytek's CryENGINE 3.

Some details were also revealed about the game's story that will take you deep into the jungles of Burma.

Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) are about to be purchased in a secret locale. A lone Sniper is dispatched with the primary objective of assisting in the interception of that sale at all costs. Dropped into the mission zone via boat and under cover of darkness, the Sniper must move quickly through the night to reach a secure vantage point. Once there, he must provide cover to the commandos that are intercepting the purchase of the biological WMDs. Targets are eliminated and evaded but the mission goes FUBAR when the Sniper has to save his brother-in-arms from an airfield over run by enemy forces.As revealed last month, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 is scheduled for release on March 16th in Europe, and March 20th in North America.

Seems like the kind of game that could prove Graphics really are not much at all. If it's atrocious to play that is.

Damn so the first one was rubbish by the sound of things, I wanted a sneaking game hmm which one will I get instead, any suggestions. Oh and I wish Thief: deadly shadows would come on xbox live

I heard the first one was an action sniper game but if they make it more of a predator/prey type game I will be interested.

Once I saw WMD, I stopped reading lol. This is one of my hopefuls, If it gets good reviews I'll pick it up a little after release, if not, oh well. I haven't played the first, but I like the premise.

I played the first couple of levels of Sniper GW1 at a friend's house recently and the two things I noticed were:

1) It looks fantastic
2) It plays horribly

If they can fix number 2, I'll be excited for this game.
