Good thing the NFL Blitz series isn't intended to be realistic. Among the ridiculous catches, bone-crunching hits, and faster-than-light passes this video has to offer, something so unrealistic occurs that tips off the arcade gameplay immediately, a defense actually stops Tim Tebow. Pshhh, yeah right.

Anyway, this video doesn't focus on the Denver Tebows -- err...I mean the Denver Broncos, but rather the commentary and music design going into the game. The most promising of features is the way EA Sports is handling the two-person commentary. Rather than the phony, tired commentary that Madden offers year after year, Blitz will feature commentary that was recorded by the announcers in-studio together, which will allow the two announcers to "feed off each other's energy", as the audio designer says in the video.



This same method is employed by the 2K Sports line of games, and the differences between what they offer for realism in commentary and what EA Sports offers has always been drastic. Hopefully this means EA Sports will incorporate the same methods into future sports titles.

Look for NFL Blitz to tackle the XBLA marketplace in January.

This really makes me want to dig up my old NFL Blitz games for the Nintendo 64. God, I miss those games.

Not fond of Brian's commentary at all. Tim Kitzrow doesn't need someone else to help him hype up the game with his commentary.

the commentary could get old real fast, other than that I'll probably get it when it comes out. Since EA is bringing this back, it would be nice if they could bring back Mutant League also.

If it's like NBA Jam, then the commentary will get old real fast. But without the late hits it doesn't matter to me as I won't be picking this up.

Seeing that EA is behind it, I don't think I even want to try, though I probably will. I would like to see EA remake Blitz: The League in its entirety, now that would be something.

Looks fun, and sounds good so far. Little worried the jokes will get old, but I like the potential.
