More details have come forth since Saturday's unveiling. We've learned that developer Robomodo will be in the driver's seat once again. If you remember, Robomodo developed the poorly received Tony Hawk: SHRED and https://www.trueachievements.com/Tony-Hawk-RIDE-xbox-360.htm. But fear not, as no goofy peripherals are involved in the HD remake.

While it is set to include "the best" of the first two games, there will be plenty about THPS HD that will be new. Activsion promises that it will feature "sharp visuals with the best controls ever in a Tony Hawk game." Also, there will be new skaters poised to join Hawk in favorite levels such as the original Warehouse. Some of which include:

Nyjah Huston
Chris Cole
Eric Koston
Andrew Reynolds
Rodney Mullen
Lyn-z Adams Hawkins (Pastrana)
Riley Hawk
The Birdman himself has some insight on the vision of the remake, which also resonates the notion that Activision and Robomodo are combining the best of old and new:

“We’re going back to the core of what made the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games so popular, while leveraging today’s console power and online capabilities,” said Tony Hawk. “We've updated many elements to reflect today’s skateboarding scene as well. Long-time fans of the series will appreciate the huge amount of polished content at a very low price."
Ah yes, the price. How much will this old-but-new remake run you back? Well, we've been given the vague price point of "about $15". Our guess is that this is just referring to the very subtle price differences between XBLA and PSN, and we can expect it to be 1200 MSP.
