UFC 141 to be Free on Xbox LIVE [UPDATE]

UPDATE: Well, that didn't take very long. The event has already sold out all 25,000 of its free downloads. It looks like you'll have to buy it now if you really want it.

Earlier this month, we shared with you the news that the UFC on Xbox LIVE App had been delayed from its original launch date. Now, it has been launched and the organizers of UFC have decided to give something away with that launch.

What's that something you ask? Well, one of the benefits of the App is the ability to watch Pay-Per-View UFC events. By using the App, you can pay for what you're looking to watch and view it from the comfort of your Xbox. Next Friday, December 30th, UFC will present UFC 141 featuring a heavyweight bout between Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem. Luckily for you, Xbox owner, you won't have to pay to watch it as the whole card will stream over the UFC on Xbox LIVE App for free, you just have to be one of the first 25,000 people to fire up the App and click to purchase UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem.

Generally, you do not need to be a Gold Subscriber to view PPVs using the App, though it's not clear if you must be to receive this broadcast.

So, who do you think will win the main event? Anyone glad they won't have to shell out for the PPV or will you do so anyway?

Check out our previous coverage for more details about the App.
