Fans of the SoulCalibur
saga will be pleased at this bit of news coming from Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu
. Two characters from past titles are set to make a return in SoulCalibur V
. Concept art showcases Algol from SoulCalibur IV
, and Edgemaster, originally from SoulCalibur
Both of these characters have been confirmed as playable, so you should be able to get your hands on the pair when the game releases next month.
Famitsu also detailed some new game modes as well. There's a Quick Match mode, which plays just
about like it sounds. This mode allows for quick fights, with special appearances by non-playable characters designed in a contest over the summer. The characters were made using the create-a-fighter tools, and can only be found as CPU opponents in this mode.
There will also be a mode known as Legendary Souls. This will function much like a 'boss rush' game type, with your opponents getting progressively harder and harder. Not much else is known about Legendary Souls, but perhaps Algol and Edgemaster will make an appearance here as well.SoulCalibur V
