Ong-Bak Game Announced

Studio HIVE isn't a name that is well-associated with the Xbox 360. In fact, it isn't a name known for the development of video games at all, with the studio only really known for providing concept art and illustrations for projects such as Front Mission Evolved. Now they are taking a step in a different direction. The studio has secured the videogame license for the next film in the Ong-Bak series.

The multiplatform game will be set in the Ong-Bak universe and is being developed in collaboration with Sahamongkol Film International, the current holder of the Ong-Bak license. Unfortunately, further details are yet to be revealed.

Kan Supabanpot, Studio HIVE's General Manager stated:

It's a great honour for our team to work on the very first Ong-Bak multiplatform game. As a Thai development studio we love the movie and have a deep understanding of the Ong-Bak brand values and we make sure that the videogame will be an inspiring martial arts action experience for gamers.
The game is due to be released in 2012.
