After a brief absence, the great battle to claim your cash resumes

It's no secret that retail releases have gone rather quietly recently, but this is of course planned by publishers. They know we're all full-up on games from the holidays and want to make sure we have ample time to recover before tossing us into the new release fray again.

Now, here we are in the final week of January and we are beginning to see a trickle of new titles filtering through. The list of big titles will only grow as the year goes on, so best start saving those pennies now.

Unless you want one of this week's releases, which I'm guessing quite a few of you will.

North America - January 31st, 2012

I have FFXIII-2 preordered and am pumped to play it BUT my backlog is so huge I really think I should shrink it first.... EEK. Soul Caliber 5 looks fun too. Not too keen on Neverdead.

I've got FF XIII-2 preordered, but I won't have time to play it for a while. And I guess I missed that NeverDead came out this week. I don't plan on buying it but I do want to play it.

NeverDead seems tempting but I am still not fully sold on it yet. Will be avoiding FF72 like the plague, it stopped being Final Fantasy years ago, just crap now

just pre-ordered my copy at gamestop so i can pick it up midnight tonight! i'm not sure why people didn't enjoy the last one, but i did and look forward to this!

I would buy Final Fantasy, but I have yet to really play the first one. I popped the game in during my bean dive and got the first achievement and have yet to go back to it. Still got 4 other games that are in the same boat. So I think i'll wait on it, by the time I get around to playing it, it will probably be $20 or $30.
