So, just how good are you at fighting games? If you think you're the best of the best, and you want to prove it, and win $25,000 in the process, you can audition for
Street Fighter x Tekken's Cross Assault reality show. Yes, that's right, Capcom is producing a new reality show that will be aired online in late February as they follow two teams, each led by a "legend from the fighting game scene" in a competition for the cash prize and glory of being an internet star.
Picture it: Your name next to other famous-on-the-internet stars like the Dramatic Gopher, or Rick Astley, or
this guy. If you like the sound of that, you can enter to be chosen for the competition, but first you'll have to read the lengthy and
official rules of the competition.
The rules can be summarized as follows:
You have to be a resident of the US who is at least 18 years old and is able to get to San Mateo, California on February 21st, at which time you'll take part in the release party for
Street Fighter x Tekken, among other perks, and compete in daily challenges with your team for different prizes. All the while, the last of the competitors remaining will be $25K richer.
To enter, you must send in a video submission describing who you are, why you're the best candidate, and you must actively promote your video and application on the internet. There are other terms as well, in addition to a slew of legal mumbo-jumbo, so make sure you read the official rules to see if this is something you'd be interested in. Applications are due by midnight PST on February 5th (Is it worth skipping the Super Bowl?)
Street Fighter x Tekken is due out on March 6th in North America, 8th in Australia, and 9th in Europe.
