Free Xbox LIVE Gold For All This Weekend (US)

By Mark Delaney, 4 years ago
The past few weeks here in the United States have been caught in the annual frenzy of Super Bowl hysteria. From parties and parades, to concerts and tournaments, the entire nation is eagerly anticipating this Sundays Patriots-Giants rematch. One of the traditions of this week is EA Sports' Madden Bowl tournament that combines NFL athletes and celebrities in teams of three for the glory of the Madden Bowl Championship. Microsoft, in promoting the event, has dished out free Xbox LIVE Gold to all US residents this weekend, even though Madden Bowl XVIII was held last night.

It'd be a good time to take advantage of the promo and rack up all of those multiplayer achievements you hate so much. The promo ends on Sunday, but an exact time has not been specified.

As for the Madden Bowl itself, the all-athlete team of Tim Tebow, Jimmy Graham, and Drew Brees took home the trophy, and I'm not kidding, they won it on a 4th quarter comeback (Tebow!). You can check out post-game coverage on the ESPN dashboard app or, you know, do the million other things with your free XBL Gold.

Thanks to all of you who sent this in to us!
