Rocksmith Patch Available Now

Ten ways to make your rocking more efficient

Written by DavieMarshall on 07 February 12 at 15:19 | Credit to Chakaal Starr

Ubisoft's Rocksmith recently saw a bunch of updates landing to improve various aspects of the game. Reporting the updates on their official Facebook page, the numerous fixes and updates were detailed in full:

- The user is now able to select ‘Songs’ from the Multiplayer Post Play screen, allowing them to select a new song without having to re-calibrate the guitar each time
- A fix has been entered to disqualify any Guitarcade Game score that was gotten through exploitation of the Pause Button. A warning message appears on the Pause Screen informing the user that pausing the game again will disqualify their score from the leaderboards
- The amount of lives that the user has in Riff Repeater has been increased to 30 when selected from Event Manager or Song selection.
- The user is now able to invoke the precision tuner before quick-tuning in any song or event, excluding multiplayer
- The user is now able to select their own “Phrase Mastery” level in the Pause Menu of Riff Repeater activities. Completing the phrase on the set level carries that progress into the full song, unless the new phrase level is LOWER than what has actually been achieved naturally
- The user can now start new songs at a HIGHER phrase level if they are good enough (Level 7 as opposed to Level 5), and they can also level up high-level phrases with fewer correct repetitions
- A fix has been implemented so that the “Satisfaction” Single Note arrangement can be unlocked for Master Mode
- A fix has been implemented so that the “Do You Remember” Chord arrangement can be unlocked for Master Mode.
- Lag Correction will be a new feature in the Options menu to adjust the difference between sound and how fast notes appear
- General stability improvements to fix crashes
Of course the stand out fix in that list is the long awaited (and overdue) lag correction facility which will no doubt please rockers across the land. All in all it's a healthy looking fix list.

So glad I already got all the Guitarcade stuff using the pause method. I've been playing long enough that I could have done it legit, but it was so frustrating I doubt I ever would have. Still need the freakin' two guitars achievement though =/.

I really want this, as a guitar player being able to use my own guitars will be amazing, when is it released in Europe anyway?

oh yeah...too bad they won't wipe the leaderboard and start fresh. Any legitimate player won't mind doing it again! warning

Some pretty good fixes, especially the lag correction. That was probably the only thing keeping me from playing this game more.

I enjoyed the 30 lives increase on rift repeater. Was nice not to have to keep restarting after 5 rounds of suckage.

@DuBear61

Actually they wiped the Leaderboards on February 2nd :) All the scores up there now are completely legit.

Those who got the achievements before the patch lost their scores, but obviously achievements can't be taken away.

But for now anyone going for the cheevos will have to get them legit. Making them some of the hardest achievements in a game to get for the typical gamer. Only experienced guitarists will get them; which is the way it should be.

Are you sure? I read it as pausing won't count for leaderboard scoring, but you can still get the achievement.

Can't you still get the achievements post patch? Just minus the leaderboard score? If not, then I am going offline.

you can still get the cheevos with the patch, it will just give you a warning that the leaderboards won't be updated with your score. And the leaderboards were wiped on Feb 2nd when the patch came out.

Well I guess I'm completely mistaken! I knew the leaderboards got wiped, and I guess I just ASSumed that it would prevent the achievements from being unlocked as well.
