Ubisoft Officially Announces Assassin's Creed 3

Ubisoft Officially Announces Assassin's Creed 3

Moving up the release date, too

Written by osubluejacket on 15 February 12 at 18:07

In a move that will surprise no one, Ubisoft announced in a call with investors that Assassin's Creed 3 is already in production and is set for an October 30th, 2012 release.

While details are slim-to-none at this point, a few tidbits are known for sure. First and foremost, AC3 will feature a new protagonist, so Ezio and Altair can enjoy a respite.

The biggest reveal will be the setting for the game. Feel free to weigh in on where YOU think the next chapter should take place in the comments section.

I love AC but.. one every year.. too much imo. Also I enjoy mp but I really want to see some good single player storytelling.

I honestly can't afford to buy a new game every year, so it looks like I'll be waiting on this one for awhile - although honestly, series that release games every year rarely hold much value once the new one comes out, so maybe I'll be able to get it sooner than I think wink

I can't wait to see who the new protagonist will be, though, and the time period they choose to use. Industrial revolution, anyone?

I really hope this is a quantum leap forward like AC2 was to AC1 because I'm sick of this side show shit. Brotherhood was decent but I found Revelations to be a waste of time. And I know this series is Ubisoft's COD, but I really wish they would chill out with the annual releases because the series fatigue is starting to show.

Agree with the above Brotherhood was a big let down. Would love to see the new game in Greek Mythology times. Go back to where it all began.

Just do it present day. I want to know what's going on with Desmond! Time to overhaul the series. I love the franchise but Revelations was hard work getting through.

I hope indeed that it isn't a rushed one, especially with Assassin's Creed: Revelations you can see that it is a rush job! Still one a year, I like it, as I don't play many other games than AC :)

Either the American Revolution or French Revolution!. Linking the two together would be even better.

It needs to have a proper ending too, since we 2012 is supposed to be armageddon or whatever (I can't remember specifics). Please don't become Activision, Ubisoft!

Wow, already?? (I figured they'd do it, but was hoping they'd take a year off.) Hopefully they keep this single-player only, so the Revelations multiplayer can live on its own over a longer timeframe. Besides, AC2 has had the best single-player story in the series. And I agree with others, that Revelations felt a bit rushed. The single-player was really simple and straightforward. It lacked the epic scale that AC2, and to a slightly lesser-extent Brotherhood had. (It was good, but I didn't have that "WOW" feeling by the end of the story that I previously had.)

No more tower defense or other side gimmicks, please! Gameplay and story is better.

I'm a bit burnt out on assassin's creed which is why I've held of buying revelations. One every year is to much.
