Meh...at least music games are taking the genre's collective formula forward to include the teaching of skills that apply to REAL instruments and not some lame plastic toy versions that, in the end, show you nothing other than your hands astonishing ability to develop carpal tunnel after furious bouts of button tapping.

I'm currently rather bored of mainstream music so out of "Coldplay, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Judas Priest, Slash, Maroon 5 and Five Finger Death Punch" only Slash interests me in the slightest.

Please sell this game in New Zealand, as Rocksmith is not available here. I have often thought that there should be 'video games' focusing on 'how to play' musical instruments. Rock Band 3 with it's pro guitar peripheral was good because: You never needed to tune it, the little buttons are comfortable for a non-guitarist, and the game can precisely quantify where you're going wrong (eg exact detection of finger placement). However Rock band 3's pro guitar is not without it's weaknesses: It costs a fair bit of dosh, you can't plug the guitar into a standard amp, hell you can't even practice with it unplugged as it makes no noise. But one thing's for certain, if you can play the song on expert using the pro guitar peripheral, then you're about 90% there for the real song. Only 90% of course because of things like vibrato, bending strings up to different notes, one/two handed tapping, staccato, and many other techniques etc. In short - I think it's an awesome teaching tool.
I like the look of this new game because: Players strap on a real guitar and within minutes are playing along with the biggest rock songs of all time. animates real guitar tablature in a simple and intuitive format allowing you to take your music wherever you go Slow down songs to hear every nuance or loop your favorite segments as you jam alongThis does sound good and my preference is for the side scrolling tab as shown in the video, not a fan of Rock Band 3's scrolling towards you but I can see why they do it. |

Putting this on pre order right away. I already can't wait for this. I hope there's some more heavy metal songs unlike in Rocksmith.

Out of all bands, only Judas Priest is interresting.. and perhaps Lynyrd. If only 10% of the songs is interresting, this game is defiinetly a skip.

I like the look of the game. I have not played Rocksmith but this sounds like a step up from that.Or at least it seems like you can do more with this game. The real question that this brings up for me is whether I should put off getting Rocksmith and just wait for Bandfuse. I'm trying to figure out if there is too much redundancy between the two or if they are different enough experiences that both would be beneficial for an inexperienced guitar player such as myself. Either way, I will be keeping an eye out for more details.

Sounds good, but learning and playing a guitar is hard work, It will be interesting to see how the tabs translate onto the screen in gameplay.

lol @Fred Lazarus...I love Rocksmith, and now that I bought a real guitar for it, any new games that come out that use it are ok with me. I think Rocksmith will have a bigger fanbase though. People complain about the songs on Rocksmith, but people will complain just to complain.

It's been long enough. Time for an actual Rock Band or Guitar Hero sequel.
Developer: Realta Entertainment = PowerGig or Rock Revolution Quality, not Rock Band or Rocksmith quality. |

Interface from what we can see of it here, looks to be the best yet in terms of using a real guitar..... that said being real is not why I play these games. I like using my 5 button fischer price guitar to play along to songs, I have a real guitar too but I dont want to use it in a "game" or something I cna get an iphone app to do for a fraction of the price of this...... or free.
