Jet Set Radio Detailed

Just last week, Sega released a teaser trailer that delivered news that many Dreamcast fans had longed to hear: Jet Set Radio would be the next Sega classic to make its way to the Xbox LIVE Arcade.

There isn't much in the way of new information, but Sega released a very helpful summary of the story for those of you who are unfamiliar with it:

Jet Set Radio lets players join the GGs, an up-and-coming street gang in the futuristic city of Tokyo-to, fighting for the right to self-expression against an overbearing, corporate-controlled police force. Rolling and leaping through crowded urban environments on magnetically driven inline skates, players take control of gang leader Beat and his growing posse of deviant artists as they steal turf from the local gangs by covering the city with colorful graffiti. Guided by Professor K, DJ for the hottest pirate broadcast in town – “Jet Set Radio” – the GGs will ultimately uncover the sinister plot hatched by the controlling powers of Tokyo-to.
They've also released a handful of screens from the title:

See that last screenshot there? Something about a contest? Some of you may remember that, way back when Jet Set Radio was released on the Dreamcast, Sega hosted a competition to create graffiti for inclusion in the game. Sega has brought this contest back for the downloadable release, only they are (appropriately) requesting digital graffiti this time. Eighteen winners will be selected to have their art in the game in addition to other prizes. Full details about the contest can be viewed here.

Jet Set Radio, which is apparently *not* being renamed Jet Grind Radio this time, will be available for download this Summer.
