Forza Motorsport 4 Porsche Expansion Pack Unveiled

By Andrew Ogley, 4 years ago
Following on from the earlier announcement today of Forza Horizon, Turn 10 Studios have announced the "Porsche Expansion Pack" for their hugely popular racing title Forza Motorsport 4.

Back in August, 2011 before the title was even released, it was announced that there would be no official Porsche cars in the game, only a couple of RUF Porsches, as an agreement could not be reached with EA who owned the rights to use the Porsche brand. Naturally this disappointed a lot of our racing fans, but despite this the title went on to claim the True Achievements award for Best Racing Game of 2011.

Today's announcement will hopefully go a long way to rectifying the omission of the world famous German manufacturer from the title, with the expansion pack being a significant piece of DLC that not only includes cars, but also additional events and some new achievements.

The pack will feature over 30 cars, with seven being totally new to the franchise. Two of the cars have been announced today: the 2010 Porsche 911 Sport Classic and the 2010 Porsche Boxster S. Additional cars will be revealed in the coming weeks before the pack is finally released.

To ensure you get the most out of these cars, the pack will also add over 20 new events for your Forza career, and will also include new rivals mode challenges and online hoppers all centered around the Porsche brand. Of course all this extra driving effort can not go unrewarded and the pack will include 10 new achievements for an additional 250 Gamerscore points.

The "Porsche Expansion Pack" is scheduled for release on May 22nd costing 1600 MSP. It is worth noting that this date falls outside of the Season Pass so it will have to be purchased separately.
