Three days ago we revealed that Zen Studios had another table pack in development for Pinball FX 2. The pack, called "Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles" will contain four tables that are based on significant events in the comic book lore of several Marvel characters. The developer has now released a breakdown for all four of the tables to give you more of an idea about what you will be facing.

Hulk Smash! After the Hulk’s banishment to outer space, he returns to Manhattan to seek revenge against the Illuminati and wage war against the X-Men, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four and Doctor Strange in World War Hulk.

The Avengers must defeat Odin’s long-banished brother, the Serpent, and free the world from the grip of chaos in Fear Itself. Featuring a table design unlike any to date, Fear Itself utilizes magnetic energy in ways no one has ever before experienced on a pinball table.

The Silver Surfer and Adam Warlock enlist Earth’s Mightiest Heroes – including you – to recover the six Infinity Gems from Thanos and save the universe in The Infinity Gauntlet. The intense pinball atmosphere heightens as each Infinity Gem produces a special effect on the table, such as literally flipping the table upside down with the Reality Gem.

Marvel’s The Avengers table reflects the events of this summer’s highly anticipated blockbuster, pitting all six Avengers against Loki’s invasion of Earth. Nick Fury commands the team of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, each character represented by a customized ball that echoes his or her own appearance and power set.

The "Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles" pack is due to be released in May. Although a price wasn't confirmed, I'd expect the pack to cost 800 MSP like all of those before it.

More tables are always good. Hope the next batch will change the theme up. Lots of Marvel tables.

Games like this live or die on the amount of content they are supplied with. The first pinball FX disappointingly only a small handful of extra tables released for it. Pinball FX 2 got off to a promising start as Zen made it backward compatible, with extra polished versions of all the tables from PFX1 available for PFX2, and free to all those that had already bought them.

As a show of support to Zen, I promised, on the official PFX2 forums, to buy every single table they made, on day of release. I'm beginning to regret it now! Credit where credit's due, they have produced so many tables for it you could almost play nothing but Pinball FX and not ever get bored. A ridiculous amount of them are Marvel themed, and I don't know or care about anything Marvel, so that's a shame, but all of the tables are beautiful and great fun to play.

Many more though and I will be begging for mercy.

Some of my friends are into that stuff, used to read American comics and all that, but they're mostly a little older than me (mid thirties) and/or have links with the States. I don't, and American comics are hard to come by here in the UK. I guess that's why I have never got into the whole superhero thing. I do feel like I've missed out on something sometimes...

Where is that one guy that always calls these new tables "Skins"? That guy really grinds my gears!

Tables all look lovely and I will get them for sure but I really want to see more non-Marvel stuff tbh. I love Marvel and all that but too much of it makes you a little bit sick.

Hoping the Popcap table(s) will be a delightful change.

Have to disagree with you again, there are dozens of independent comic stores (at least there were back in the 90s/00s when I collected them) in London & Birmingham.

I'm sure the new tables will have the same achievement profile of the previous tables. 3 achievements each totalling 50G. Great game, loads of fun. But a completionists worst nightmare. Especially since more than a few of the marvel table achievements are very difficult. And im expecting no less from the new ones

The Marvel tables arn't the only ones with difficult achievements. Although I still have yet to get a single one for Iron Man! The new ones are crazy difficult. That being said, every Marvel table has been great to look at and play and welcome more Marvel! These new ones look so great.
