COD: MW3 Collection 1 Arrives

COD: MW3 Collection 1 Arrives

DLC now available for all

Written by punkyliar on 20 March 12 at 21:39

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 DLC drops 4, 5 and 6 became available for Call of Duty Elite members last week, but everybody else had to wait until today. Instead of individual downloads, the four multiplayer maps and two spec ops missions have been put together in "Collection 1". There are six new achievements worth a total of 160G.

If you are a Call of Duty Elite premium member, you already have access to the content in this Content Collection. Redeploying with an arsenal of content unlike any in franchise history, Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 3’s first downloadable “Collection” arrives stockpiled with not only four Multiplayer/Survival Mode Maps, but two Special Ops Missions—the first time Call of Duty® has ever made Special Ops downloadable online. Armed with just this one content pack, players can choose between heading to a militarized Central Park in “Liberation,” destroying scenic vistas in a seaside Italian getaway in “Piazza,” raining glass on New York passersby from 70-stories-up in “Overwatch,” and battling beside a downed Air Force One in “Black Box.” As if that breadth of multiplayer variety wasn’t enough, fans of Special Ops can hop aboard snowmobiles to infiltrate a diamond mine in “”Black Ice” or head to India, where “Negotiator” will leave the fate of hostages in their hands. In a class of its own with half-a-dozen forms of content, Modern Warfare® 3’s first downloadable “Collection” offers a range of combat and co-op the likes of which has never been seen before. After this download is complete, please download the accompanying Collection 1 maps from the in-game STORE option in the MULTIPLAYER menu. Those of you wanting a sneak peek of the DLC before downloading should check out this trailer and screenshots. The DLC costs 1200 MSP and can be downloaded from here.

Finally... I hate that they divided the community like this. Not even an option to buy until 3 months in.

But i know alot of persons will disagree but i think for 1200MSP this is a pretty good value

Lol 1200 a good value? It's a rip off if you ask me. 2 missions which of 1 is a campaignlevel. So 1 new area and 1 you already been in. Basicly 600 MSP each. But for the non elite owners it's your money. My opinion stays it's a big rip off.

This DLC is going to prevent me from starting this game for a LONG time. I already paid $120 for Black Ops cause of their damn 1200 MSP DLC. That was worth it at least since it was zombies....fuck their multiplayer. Same old bullshit. Add some driveable vehicles and maybe I'll become interested.

is it that hard to understand?

Zombies? You mean Spec Ops survival? Anyway yes it seems it's that hard. Last thing I remembered was that Elite members would get the dlc stuff 1 week early so didn't notice you get the MP maps with it. That does change stuff a little only. Can't judge about the MW3 MP as I played 0 matches in it. Did like Spec Ops though. And yes I got the game at 1160.

But this is an achievement site so people will count that they get only those two maps. And it isn't hard to understand, but seriously 1200 msp is a rip off. They should divide their DLC packs in two: achievement packs and mp packs. I have never liked COD mp, and I don't like the idea that I'm being forced to buy mp maps that I'm never going to play, if I want to get all achievements. I think I'm going to wait till this and upcoming packs will be the DotW (if they put more cheevos).

or people could save there money and not spend it on the same four maps that they are going to play 20 times each and for a spec ops mission they are going to play twice to get all achievements...and the people who are paying $15 for achievements...really...a virtual number that 5 people a month look at...yes i know i have alot of gamerscore but thats because I play games because i like them..i dont buy them for achievements and yes they are fun to go for sometimes but i would never spend $15 on an already $60 just for gamerscore..

Exactly, if you want GS that bad, go find some bargains for $15 and get a full 1000GS instead of a few hundred. Not completing DLC does not mean you have not completed the game, IMO. Don't buy into that bullshit.;)
