Microsoft Announces Triple Play Promotion

Step 1: Gaming, Entertaining, Socializing; Step 2: ????; Step 3: Profit

Microsoft has revealed that they will be running a promotion throughout the month of April that could see you walking away 300 MSP richer. The promotion, titled "Triple Play", wants gamers to take advantage of the multitude of things the Xbox can do. We all know and love it for the games, but they've been hard at work rounding out the entertainment and social features on the console. What better way to make us take advantage of these things than to offer something for free, right?

How do you get in on this promotion? Microsoft has set certain gaming, entertainment, and social milestones that you have to reach before the month is out. Satisfying at least one requirement from each of the three categories nets you the points.

For the gaming aspect, you have to do one of the following:
Play any Kinect game for 2 hours or more during the month of April. Game titles are seen here.

OR

Experience multi-player gaming on Xbox LIVE for 10 hours or more during the month of April.

OR

Spend 800 Microsoft Points or more on game-related items in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace during the month of April (qualifying items include the following: Games on Demand, Game Add-Ons, or Arcade game titles).For entertainment, MS wants you to experience one of the following:
Spend 400 Microsoft Points or more on any movie or television content in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace during the month of April.

OR

Use any of these entertainment apps for 10 hours or more during the month of April:

ESPN on Xbox LIVE
HBO GO
Hulu Plus
iHeartRadio
Last.FM
MSN with MSNBC.com
Netflix
Syfy
TMZ
UFC® on Xbox LIVE

ZuneFinally, this is what you need to do to satisfy the social aspect:
Use Facebook through your Xbox LIVE account for 1 hour or more during the month of April.

OR

Watch YouTube through your Xbox LIVE account for 1 hour or more during the month of April.

OR

Connect over Video Kinect for 1 hour or more during the month of April.As the program is being run through Xbox LIVE Rewards, you can expect these point to be deposited into your account some time in mid-May.

1. When I saw this in the queue, I had hoped you'd include the South Park gnomes reference, so for that I thank you.

2. I pretty much do these things already, just don't do the social stuff on Xbox. I'll just have to watch some of my concert videos on Youtube for a while.

So you have to spend 400 MSP to get 300 back. hardly a wonderful deal.
And I'm surprised they even bother to promote actually playing games on the 360 anymore what with all the useless social apps and other such crap cluttering it up. Just...make...it...faster...please.

Can't decide whether Microsoft are tight or TA contributors are extraordinarily generous. Microsoft give away 300mp, and TA gives away Live Subscription, 800mp and other prizes.

Already imagining the "boosting recommendations" from people for this. I play a lot of online multiplayer and will bank this in 1 month easy w/o trying. I'm just glad I'll know why 300 points will appear in my balance in May. Thanks for the heads up TA.

Are these things that you can do by just having the app or game running and then walk away for a few hours? In other words, can I log into the Facebook or YouTube app and just leave it there on the front page and walk away or watch tv or something like that for an hour?

I think that you can watch a TV series like LOST and it will autoplay the next episode automatically, too.

I think that you can watch a TV series like LOST and it will autoplay the next episode automatically, too.Silly Norvy... You only need an hour for YouTube. Although for Netflix on 10 hours, you CAN set it to autoplay so it may be easiest to boost by watching a TV series.

So do you have to complete EACh aspect? Because 2 hours of Kinect and 10 hours of Netflix are my normal anyway, but I dont use any of those social apps.
