WRC 3 Announced

The announcement of Milestone's http://www.trueachievements.com/WRC-3-xbox-360.htm, the third game in the WRC rally series, comes as no surprise. Back in September 2011, before the release of http://www.trueachievements.com/WRC-2-xbox-360.htm, budding artists were asked to design the livery for Dennis Kuipers' car at the Wales Rally GB that ran from November 10th to 13th last year. That livery was also going to be implemented into the next instalment of the series, WRC 3. Nearly seven months later, we get the first details for this game.

Milestone has rebuilt this game from the ground up. A new internally-developed graphics and game engine, Spikengine, will be used to bring life to the drivers and cars in the 2012 FIA World Rally Championship. Improved model lighting, particle effects and "other real-world characteristics" is intended to immerse players into the world of WRC. New modelling techniques have been used on the cars to make them appear more life-like and improve their handling. Have a look at some of the scenery through the new graphics engine:

4/4/12 Scenery 2

4/4/12 Scenery 3

4/4/12 Scenery 4

4/4/12 Scenery 5

The revamped career mode will feature all of the rallies from this year's calendar, as well as improved crowd effects, stages that have been rebuilt and new cinematic introductions for every stage. In total, there will be over 50 official WRC teams, as well as the Class 2 and Class 3 series. The game will also include "Super Special Stages", although details on these are yet to be revealed.

WRC 3 is due to be released in October 2012, although this game is likely to be restricted to European distribution only.
