Grasshopper Manufacture Reveals Killer is Dead

Suda 51's Grasshopper Manufacture and Kadokawa Games, the pairing behind this Summer's Lollipop Chainsaw, have revealed that they are presently in the very early stages of development for a brand new title for the Xbox 360 titled Killer is Dead.

Suda 51 revealed the first details on the title in an interview with popular Japanese gaming magazine, Weekly Famitsu. Though it's a reasonable assumption, Killer is Dead is not a sequel to Killer 7. Killer is Dead does, however, retain the assassin concept from the older title.

Using sword-based game play similar to No More Heroes, players will take on the role of a character whose profession is "Executioner". Your task as an Executioner? To take down S-level criminals across the globe. A central concept in Killer is Dead, which takes place in a variation on modern times, is love as the main character fights to protect someone who is dear to him.

Killer is Dead has been in planning since 2009, but the game's prototype and scenario were only recently completed. We can expect to see the final version sometime in 2013.
