More Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning DLC Revealed

The Teeth of Naros come closer

Written by PunkyLiar on 05 April 12 at 00:58

Long before the release of "The Legend of Dead Kel", the first piece of DLC for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, achievements had been leaked on internet forums that suggested that a second DLC pack was on its way. Later this month, a second DLC pack will indeed arrive on the Xbox Marketplace. The "Teeth of Naros" add-on will take players to a forgotten land, surprisingly called the Teeth of Naros. This harsh environment is named after an ancient troll god, revered by a race of giants known as the Kollossae.

As players attempt to unravel the mysteries of the Kollossae's faith, they will meet with several new gameplay features:

A New City – Explore the city of Idylla, which magically floats in the sky above the Teeth of Naros featuring more than 20 side quests, multiple dungeons and a mysterious new race
New Enemies and Dungeons – Players will take part in a crucible of faith and tribulation with new dangers and enemies as they journey through five enormous new dungeons
New Twists of Fate and Items - Three new Twists of Fate, nine new armor sets, six new shields and 18 new unique weapons for players to choose from as they journey through this new world
The "Teeth of Naros" DLC will also add six new achievements worth a total of 150G. It is due to be released on April 17th, but a price is yet to be confirmed. Hopefully the price will be in line with the first piece of DLC at 800 MSP.

This game is seriously underrated by gamers due in part to the Skyrim hangover in my opinion. Hope they keep rolling out the DLC, enjoying every bit of it.

I think most of the negative impression was created by the crappy demo they put out. I fully intended to buy this game at launch until I tried the demo. It was only months later that I discovered the demo's quality is way inferior to the actual game's. Too late. Damage done.

With The Witcher 2 and Dragon's Dogma about to be released, I will probably wait for KoA's "Complete Edition" to be released before picking it up.

The game is above average, but not great. Buying the DLC can wait until the inevitable DotW.
I game for achievements. You may or may not. Can we get back on topic?

I just lent this game to a friend, but I'll buy this straight away when I get it back. The Legend of Dead Kel DLC was fantastic, I highly recommend it.

The first dlc was exceptionally high quality compared to most of the crap they release as DLC for games. If this one is as good it is worth full price!

If this includes a much-needed level cap increase, I'll get it day one. If not, I'll most likely wait for a future sale. RPGs generally lose a lot of their appeal to me immediately after I hit the cap.

That's right Shilling, keep rolling out the DLC. Maybe they'll have some sort of Complete Edition for the game down the road and then I'll pick it up laugh

I haven't regretted buying it at full price, and will be buying this DLC day 1 (bought Kel a few days later due to the snafu with xbox.com, but day 1 in spirit!)...it's down to $39.99 new and $35 used at Gamestop this week.

If I had to choose Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, or Skyrim, it would be Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. They know how to keep the player's attention with new DLC every month or so. I think that's what is going to make this game more popular.
