Meet Professor Fitz Quadrangle

Written by punkyliar on 06 April 12 at 00:30

Quantum Conundrum is an upcoming XBLA puzzler created by the mind behind Portal: Still Alive, Kim Swift. The game sees players take on the role of a young boy who arrives at his uncle's house, home of many scientific experiments. Initially having little interest, the boy's reluctance turns to fascination until something goes wrong. His uncle is now missing and the boy must traverse the laboratories using an Interdimensional Shift (IDS) device to pass between different dimensions.

His uncle is otherwise known as Professor Fitz Quadrangle. The professor will attempt to guide the boy through the many hazardous experiments that make up his home. He is wacky and inventive, as all professors tend to be, and he has a star voice talent behind him. John de Lancie, star of Star Trek: Voyager and Breaking Bad, will be voicing the character and had this to say:

The professor’s character is funny, a bit bizarre, and a great joy to perform. If players have half as much fun with the game as I did playing the character, then they’ll be having a great time.Have a look at this interview with de Lancie where he lends his thoughts to the character and to the game itself.

Quantum Conundrum is due to be released this summer. A price is yet to be confirmed.

I find it funny that they list Star Trek: Voyager as his ST credit. Yes, he appeared in it, but the character was truly at the top of his game back in TNG.

Yeah, why list Voyager and not TNG? The Picard is the man. I tried to channel him in my Mass Effect Paragon run..but since they didn't bother to test the face importing or make a real ending I doubt he'll ever see ME3. Anyway, on topic, loved him as Q in Star Trek and on Breaking Bad, I wish he had more roles.

I would pay to see a movie of just him and Picard in a shuttlecraft bickering for two hours.

I hated Q with a vengeance. Barring one or two episodes, every TNG he appeared in was crap.

I remember being much younger and rented a movie called "Evolver" on vhs. My exact words were "It has the actor that played Q in Star Trek, it cant be that bad..."

Quite possibly the worst movie i ever saw.

I know it wasnt his fault...

I just loved the character in TNG and DS9. (I dont believe voyager existed)

The game looks interesting though.
