Double XP Comes to Gears of War 3

Celebrate Easter in style

Easter is fast approaching, so aside from stocking up on enough chocolate to get you through the rest of the year, many games are having special weekend events. Gears of War 3 is not an exception. This weekend sees double XP being applied to all game modes. The event starts today and finishes on April 9th.

First there is a Classic horde mode. There are few details on what this entails unfortunately. Meanwhile, beast mode will include custom locust for players to use. The targets? Easter bunnies.

In the versus multiplayer modes, last weekend's special Execution playlist, Raven Down 24/7, has now become a Get Gnashty playlist. Players will still need to win ten rounds to finish the game, but the weapon load-out no longer includes the Golden Snub pistol. Gnashers will still be the main weapon of the mode, unsurprisingly. All maps will be cycled too.

In an additional bit of information, the Guardian playlist will not be restricted to Force of Nature maps any more. From today, all maps will become active on that playlist.

that sucks since I just picked up AC Brotherhood,oh well put it on the back burner with the other 6 new games to be played!

Feel bad for people who don't have their wins on every forces of nature on guardian cause it just got harder with the old maps getting mixed in that playlist gow2 annex all over again :/

just got all map related achievments out of the way can enjoy guradian without stressing over not winning when a forces of nature map appears. It does suck that they dont leave just dlc playlists open for people who still need it still feel sorry for people doin annex in GOW 2 as well just same thing really.
