Final Fantasy XIII-2 New DLC Announced

Final Fantasy XIII-2 New DLC Announced

New characters and costumes revealed, including a certain well-known assassin's outfit

Written by Andrew Ogley (Nexus Grunt) on 07 April 12 at 17:15

Announcements of DLC for Final Fantasy XIII-2 seem to be coming in rapid succession at the moment. In last month's roundup we reported on the DLC featuring various new costumes, this month we have confirmation of new DLC heading for the Japanese region.

There are a number of DLC items available this month ranging from additional costumes, to new characters who will potentially join your party. Firstly, the character Gilgamesh from Final Fantasy V will be a competitor in the coliseum. If you defeat him, there will be a chance, albeit a small 25% chance, that he will join your party as a commando. Gilgamesh will be available for 480 MSP.

Alternatively, Final Fantasy VIII boss PuPu, is also available. Defeat him and there is a chance that he will also join your party as a medic, although this is only a 10% chance. The PuPu pack will cost 240 MSP.

Finally, to complete the set of DLC there are new costumes available for Noel and Serah. Noel has access to Assassin’s Creed “Ezio” costume, and Serah will have a costume specially designed by Yoko Oshima, one of the members of the Japanese girl group AKB 48. This costume is called "Exposure and Defense" and will be free of charge. The Ezio costume will be available for 360 MSP.

I'll pick up the gilgamesh coliseum dlc. Sadly I haven't purchased the other content as there isn't much incentive to buy the DLC once you've beaten the game and maxed out your characters. Plus no new achievements sadly...

Free costume, nice. Ezio looks good, but I can think of better ways to spend my money.

Anyone else notice the typo? It should be Final Fantasy XIII-2, not Final Fantasy XII-2.

Wow, the costumes are getting even more expensive. Are people really willing to spend $4.50 just to make Noel look like Ezio? You could probably get one of Ezio's games for around that price by now.

so much for all the "Story" driven DLC we were led tobelieve we would get. More characters in the Colliseum would be nice if there were more to do in the game, but at this point I think this DLC would only appeal to people who have not yet played the game.

So I wouldn't exactly bitch considering they just released the Sazh bit not too long ago. These types of things definitely appeal more to the newer players with outfits and such but these bosses can't be beaten with a new party by any means. They're working on the story stuff but people need to give it time instead of complaining so much...

Gilgamesh looks beast. Not too stressed to buy every downloadable boss though. Might give it some time and see if there is a sale.
You seem a little furious...

The FF wiki has a picture of Serah's newest outfit here.

GIlgamesh looks ready to fight an entire army by himself.
"Slutty outfit? You're one to talk." "This isn't slutty, it's...strategically placed."

I'm a sucker for coliseum battles. Also Serah's new outfit looks pretty cool.

I think I am going to wait until they have all the DLC released then buy them. Lots of good stuff come out this week, so just have to bide my time.
