Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Beta Dated

By Rebecca Smith, 4 years ago is a game that has suffered delay after delay, as has the beta that was supposed to precede the game's release. The last that we heard of the beta was that it had been put back until April with no fixed date. I know that many of you had given up hope of the beta ever being available, but those hopes can now be recalled. All Ghost Recons wil be called to serve on April 19th and will see active duty until May 2nd.

For the first week of the beta, only one game mode will be available. Conflict sees players battle to complete objectives throughout the map over one 15 minute round. The team with the most points at the end of the round will win the game.

Starting on April 26th a second game mode, Saboteur, will be available. In this mode, a bomb spawns in a central location of the map. Players are tasked with locating the bomb and then detonating it within the opposing team's base. There will be a ten minute time limit on each round.

Both game modes allow up to 12 players per game and they can choose from three classes: rifleman, engineer and scout. Mill and Pipeline are the two maps that will be accessible during the beta.

Players can access the beta in one of three ways. First, all owners of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction will be able to access the beta directly through this game. Secondly, pre-ordering Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will grant you a beta key. Finally, and this is the most risky way of doing it, there will be various beta key giveaways online.

In a second piece of important news today, Ubisoft has unveiled the Ghost Recon Network companion application that can be accessed from smartphones, tablets and here on the internet. This free companion application will start with Ghost Recon: Future Soldier and be applicable to all Ghost Recon games in the future. Players who take part in the beta will be able to try out specific features of the internet and Android mobile apps, but what does the full app entail? Here's a breakdown for you:
