Skyrim Kinect Update to Support Multiple Languages

Skyrim Kinect Update to Support Multiple Languages

So how does one say 'Fus-Ro-Da' in Spanish?

Written by Matrarch on 13 April 12 at 20:38

Just yesterday, it was revealed that Kinect support would be coming to Bethesda's mega-hit RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Now, we have a couple more details to share. We knew for sure that the ability to use Dragon Shouts, hotkey equipping, and menu options would be available via Kinect integration, but what we did not know until now is that it will be available in five languages.

In ten days, the new Kinect functionality will arrive in English. Shortly thereafter, French, Italian, German, and Spanish editions will be released as well.

Pete Hines, vice president of marketing and public relations for Bethesda, shared some thoughts behind adding Kinect functionality in an exclusive interview with CNN.com

When you do things, like when you are on the map, you uncover a lot of map markers and quests to go to a particular place. [With Kinect] you can use voice commands to do things very easily, to jump to different cities on the map. Even doing things in inventory like sorting by weight, by value -- that functionality doesn't exist in 'Skyrim' as it is. With Kinect, it unlocks a lot of new options. You'll be able to live out your dream of shouting commands with all the epic weight you feel appropriate and having something actually happen (other than your family/pets giving you odd looks) on April 23rd in English. Other languages will follow soon.

Doesn't 'Rojo' mean red in english?

Plus I see no real way of translating this from the Dragon language to English language, to Spanish language

How do you even tell what the other shouts are? Fus-Ro-Dah is arguably the most popular but are you supposed to try and decipher the dragon language just from what your avatar says? Honestly, other than Fus-Ro-Dah, I cant tell what he says when he shouts any of the others.

i don't think it will be usefull for the shouts, but i think it makes a lot of difference with commands as 'equip axe and shield' and that sort of things

Fus do Rah in Dutch would be, you know, 'Fus do Rah'. I mean, how would they even translate that to German or French? You can't even translate that shit to English.

Wouldn't Dragon language be the same for anybody? Fus do Rah is Fus do Rah, doesn't matter who says it.

Best feature ever...

I wasn't using Shout except for Dragonrend 'cause I feel it was too long switching between those.

Same thing, I was getting bored of switching my bow for a dual sword. Game will feel way smoother that way...
