A few days ago, rumors buzzed that Crysis 3
was in the works and many of you sent this news into us to report on. It wasn't that we ignored those messages, we were only waiting for the official announcement -- and here it is!
EA and Crytek have today officially announced the game, due for release in 2013. Players will reprise their roles as a vengeful Prophet who returns to New York in the year 2047, which has now been encased in a Nanodome thanks to Cell Corporation who have disguised the power grab as an attempt at improving the city.
We know the omnipotent Nanosuit will return, assuredly with upgrades, and you'll have a new bow (pictured above) as well. Beyond that and the story synopsis, not much else was announced. Although if you're immediately sold on the sequel, pre-order details have been revealed.
Pre-ordering today will instantly upgrade you to the limited Hunter Edition of the game. Included in the upgrade is early multiplayer access to the new signature bow and its attachments, plus the Hunter Nanosuit module which adds additional power and functionality to the super-suit. Pre-ordering now will also also get you a head start when playing online with a bonus XP boost up to level 5, a unique bow skin and three exclusive dog tags.
Three retailer-specific pre-orders have been announced as well, though which pack goes with which retailer wasn't announced, and the usual suspects of retailers do not yet list the game.
