After the first coverage
we did for Geniaware's football management title, http://www.trueachievements.com/Lords-of-Football-xbox-....htm
, which was quite some time ago now, details were revealed that the game would come as a management style football game, mixed in with the style of The Sims
. The twist with this upcoming title is the fact that you will be over-seeing everything within your footballers lives, not just the main sports side of things like training and performance.
Alongside the new set of screenshots that have been released, details have been dished out on another aspect of being an overly rich and wealthy footballer: their nightlife! Like any human being, these footballers will have their needs and personal preferences, and after a hard day of training and playing football, the player needs to aid his team with finding the ultimate satisfaction for each player. As your players hit up the town they can check out different places and venues, and choose from different activites in which to get wasted or obliterate their pay-cheque, including the likes of a "Wine Tasting evening, or a Brazilian Night, or host a launch party in the Club (or a spicy Pole Dancing night!)".
Too much of these lovely treats will result in the football stars becoming distracted, unfocused and potentially hooked on their preferred nightlife style. Gambling, partying, eating and/or drinking to much will not lead to some world-class performances on the pitch, and this is where the player (the Lord) needs to be in firm control and make the right decisions for their team. Players will be able to fix themselves up with facilities on offer within the Football Training Grounds; the clinic, for example, will help deal with alcohol problems or cure a player's party or woman addiction (just like in real life!).
To sum up the details, you will need to be everything for your players and know everything about them, including their nature, personal preferences, needs and goals in life and on the pitch.
The latest screenshots for the title showcase just a fraction of the ups and downs of a footballer's nightlife. Footballers hit the bottle instead of the ball on the pitch after throwing too many shapes in the disco, and some of the players take to clinic to deal with their gambling/drinking/sex problems:
If this game turns out to have options and a storyline like some of the footballers' nightlife in real-life, football fans could be in for one of the best sports titles to ever release.
For those anxious to re-live some of their favourite footballers off the pitch moments through Lords of Football
, I'm afraid a released date is still yet to be announced.
