Dragon's Lair Release Date Confirmed

Dragon's Lair Release Date Confirmed

Don Bluth's animated classic finally gets a release date

Written by Nexus Grunt on 30 April 12 at 14:07 | Credit to METAL MIN0TAUR

Earlier this month we reported on the latest trailer for the upcoming XBLA title, Dragon's Lair which is a modern remake of the original 1980's arcade classic. Today, we can happily confirm that the title now has been given a release date of May 18th.

Boxart

This latest incarnation of the game will have a few added bonuses that were not available in the original arcade version. Players will be able to tackle the perils of the dungeon in a special co-op mode and will also be able to play using either a standard controller or by jumping around in front of their Kinect sensors.

For our previous coverage of the upcoming title, follow this link.

As already stated, Dragon's Lair will be released next month over XBLA Marketplace; however, at the time of writing the pricing details have still to be confirmed.

Whew! Saw the Kinect border and got a little bothered!

Controller is how I roll!

But co-op?!

Thanks for sharing. Funny enough, you need to play with a controller to get all achievements. The good thing is that Kinectless people do not have to buy one, :)

Might get for curio value if it's 200msp in a sale, but trust me 400 is too much for this game.

Oh to relive the memories. Pricing will be very important in the sale of this game though.

You know what they should have done, they should have done this as a pack bundled with Space Ace.

I liked these games in the past and would love other games like Thunderstorm, Road Avenger and Time Girl be ported over but again only if they charge sensible prices for them.

However, comparing it to todays games, it probably will only have nostalgia value like many other older games brought back. I will maybe wait for a sale because I have never been particular good at Dragon's Lair.

BTW, I enjoyed Crosby shooting that glove away. Prepping up his golf swing I guess wink
