Meet Hitman: Absolution's Agent 47

Surely many of you are well-acquainted with him already

The Hitman series has been around for years, and its anti-hero of a protagonist, Agent 47, has always been a man of few words. He lets his actions speak on his behalf. The best part of the series, which this new gameplay video emphasizes, is those "actions" are always defined by the player. Do you silently infiltrate a room of guards, perhaps even in disguise? Or do you go in guns blazing and mercilessly end everyone's lives in a heartbeat? It's always been up to you.

In Absolution, the gameplay has been modernized to include an Instinct mode (a la Batman's Detective mode) and a cover system, which the previous games have lacked, but when it comes to taking out your targets, the freedom of choice remains.



Hitman: Absolution is still painfully without an official release date, but is on track to release this year. There's plenty of other coverage to see, most importantly this nearly twenty minute, unedited gameplay excerpt.

Wasn't particularly interested in this, but my interest has been stoked!
Never got into Hitman much to be honest, but thinking about it, my favourite quest in Oblivion was where you had to stalk about the mansion picking off the guests one by one without anyone finding out.

If Hitman can do that, then it's a day-one-buy.

Hitman has and always will be a great franchise. This game is taking a great new approach to the series. My biggest complaint about ANY hitman game is the lack of diversity...now before we all argue let me explain. There ARE several different ways to kill in every single mission...very different ways, however, say you wanted to get silent assassin rating on every level (the highest rating) then there's only 1 path to take to achieve that rating. In blood money you had to primarily make it look like an accident to get S.A. and there is usually only one "accident" available to fake. I just want different options for high ratings which I think absolution is gonna hit nicely
